Newflash…...Celtic Cross Tarot Spread Released...Newsflash….
With this being a Very Special Week in Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day on The 17th, and also a Very Special Year for the Irish, The Centenary of The Easter Rising, I have been working hard at putting together a brand new volume of content based solely on The Celtic Cross Tarot Spread.
Today I release a New Section on The Menu called Celtic Cross Spread. The content today will be Part One of a total of Four Releases this week. Yes, it is all about The Celtic Cross Tarot Spread and I have gone to great effort to make it as comprehensive for you as possible. So many of you have been asking me when I am going to get around to dealing with The Celtic Cross Spread and I can safely give an affirmative response now. Read the rest of this entry
Greetings to all on this Wednesday Morning,
May Blossom in My Local Forest, Donadea, Co. Kildare, Ireland
I trust you all had a lovely weekend and managed to enjoy yourselves. Monday was a Public Holiday in Ireland associated with May Day and Bealtaine. All the schools were closed and many people off work allowing them the freedom to enjoy a long weekend. However, even though we have just officially started into summer, the weather in Ireland for the weekend was pretty miserable. Heavy dark, dull and gloomy skies with strong wind and regular downpours of rain. It was cold and damp, more resembling a mid October day than a fine early summer one.
I have been working very hard in the last week trying to write for this site while building, configuring and driving myself insane trying to fix things that refuse to fix on my new WordPress.org site. There is a lot of work involved in preparing it so that it is ready to take over from this site, and to be honest, it is a bit of a juggling act working between the two. I was told by a WordPress trainer last week that because I am changing the site name from teachmetarot.wordpress.com to trulyteachmetarot.com all the hyperlinks I have created at the end of all the pages will have to be manually changed. This is also to do with the fact that I have changed some of the Lesson Titles, therefore changing the page URL. I thought when I did a site redirect it would do all that for me but because I have made so many changes, the links will break. Therefore there is nothing for it but hard old slog. As a result, I am splitting my time between posting on this site and trying to get some more writing done re the Cards and Lesson Content, while the rest of the time configuring the new site. I feel frustrated because it is taking me away from the time I should be spending writing.
Also, my health is a bit up and down at the moment with many hospital appointments to attend; scans, MRIs and a variety of other tests. As a result, my weeks have gotten fairly broken up. Some of you already know that I also make Vintage Style Boudoir Dolls for a hobby and due to all the above have been losing out on the precious time to spend working on them. With it being the Long Weekend just gone, and the weather so poorly, I decided I needed a break from The Computer but was also stressed about the fact that I have so much work to do on it. I decided to ask The Tarot Cards and The Universe what I should do, and let them decide for me. I would take their decision as the one that was in my best interests. Well, sort of!
I sat for a while and worked out how I would go about it. What I wanted to know was, What should I spend my weekend working on? Configuring the New Site or Finishing my Latest Boudoir Doll, Gladys?
First I decided that I would pick out Cards to represent both Options and The Personality Aspects involved. This is what I came up with:
For Working on The Computer and my New Site I chose the Following:
The Queen of Swords the Writer and all Mental Work involved in Configuring the New Site, and The Emperor who rarely goes off duty and is strongly disciplined.
To Represent The Situation I chose:
The Three of Pentacles to demonstrate how I am still at the learning stage and in need of guidance as to how to do, and set up certain things on my new site. I am very much the novice, the apprentice. I then chose The Two of Pentacles which symbolised the juggling act I am doing with the two sites, trying to keep both going, and having to get to grips with all the techie information overload of configuring my own site. I chose the Reversed Seven of Pentacles to symbolise my tendency to never take a break from all the back-breaking work and The Four of Swords to represent the mental exhaustion I felt after a week of hard slog on the computer.
I then Chose Cards to Highlight The Underlying Drive behind the above Cards:
The Devil to highlight how enslaved I felt this last week. Chained to my desk and The Devil telling me I had to stay there and shouldn’t be thinking about going anywhere too soon. I chose The Chariot to highlight the strong and determined stance I normally take when someone, especially my partner, suggests I take a break. ‘Can’t stop now, must keep going, work, work, work, work, can’t cut myself some slack, must maintain a forward momentum’ and The Hermit to represent me turning into some sort of recluse and not seeing anyone or even remotely socialising. I will grow old and wizened sitting at my computer.
For Working on my Boudoir Doll I selected The Following:
The Queen of Cups to represent The Artistic and Creative work of Crafting Dolls and The Empress, Patroness of The Arts, Creative Hobbies and also Leisure Time. She was shouting at me to take a break.
To Represent the Situation, I chose:
The Eight of Pentacles to symbolise the deep love I have for my Boudoir Doll Hobby, and how meticulous I am about the fine detail of their finish. The Pentacles on the tree represented the dolls I have already made. Although they take a lot of hard work and much time, it is a labour of love. The Nine of Cups I chose for simply pleasing myself and thinking of what I wanted for a change. The Star obviously reflects the strong creative aspect of crafting my Boudoir Dolls, and my desire for a break. The Sun echoes this creativity and the joy I get out of the birthing process of each doll. It also reveals my deep desire to have a bit of freedom from The Devil above, if only for a couple of days.
To Represent What was driving this particular option I chose:
Judgement to symbolise the call from within that was pulling me away from the Computer and my Desk. The Lovers because I was aware that this was a holiday weekend and I should be spending more time with my partner who often paints, plays the guitar or writes poetry while I craft my dolls. When I work on the Computer I do not encourage distraction or conversation as it breaks my thought processes. Temperance linked to Judgement affirming that I needed some balance in my life and a bit of a vacation from hard mental slog.
I then Threw it out to The Universe and Chose The Wheel of Fortune to represent letting it decide my fate for the weekend:
However Underneath it I placed The High Priestess to indicate that I knew myself what it was I wanted to do. I didn’t really need to be consulting the Cards as my mind was very much made up.
I then put the remaining Cards together and shuffled to discover what The Universe and The Tarot thought was in my best interests. I set the intention that The Outcome or Answer would be for my Highest and Greatest Good. I decided that for a Yes to continuing working on the computer for the weekend, The Ace of Swords would be the Card and for a Yes to working on my Doll, The Ace of Cups would be the Card.
I shuffled the Cards whilst dwelling on the two options. I did not Reverse any Cards as it was not necessary. I then put the Shuffled Deck on The Table and started to turn over Cards one at a time. The First of The Two Selected Above to appear would be the deciding factor. I turned the Cards over slowly and knew what I was wishing for (probably Tainted the Reading as a result). And then it appeared. There was my first of the Two Selected Aces:
So it was Decided for me. The Wheel of Fortune had turned and stopped at The Ace of Cups. It was confirmed and I had nothing to feel guilty about. I was going to work on my Doll, Gladys for the weekend. The Queen of Swords and The Emperor would have to cosy up with The Devil and The Chariot with The Hermit watching them all in silence, while I frittered away my time sewing beads onto a blouse and making underwear and a suede handbag to match my doll’s dainty shoes and elegant hat. With such a positive clap on the back I was determined I would finish her before the weekend was out so that I would have something to show for all my effort. I wanted to thank The Wheel of Fortune for being kind to me. Guess what? I did just that so I have decided to share some photos of her and I do hope you like her as much as I do.
Let me now Introduce Gladys:

Happy Valentine’s Day to All Around The World
The Picture above shows Cards from The Jane Austen Tarot Deck. I thought their Romantic Imagery would be very suitable and fitting for Valentine’s Day. The Tarot of Jane Austen by Diane Wilkes and Lola Alraghi, and published by Lo Scarabeo is inspired by the famous author of the Classics ‘Pride and Prejudice’, ‘Emma’ and ‘Sense and Sensibility.
This is a beautiful Deck of Cards and lovely to use for Love and Romance Readings. Whereas they do stick quite faithfully to the Rider-Waite-Smith approach, some of the Imagery in relation to Card Number and Suit may be confusing for the beginner. It is a matter of just getting used to them and they are a must for any Jane Austen Fan. Be warned, they may appear all pink and fluffy in the main, but some of the Cards, especially the Swords, known as Plumes/Quills in this Deck, can be quite Dark, especially The Four of Plumes, Five of Coins, Death and The Moon. The Suits are called Candlesticks (Wands), Teacups (Cups), Quills (Swords) and Coins (Pentacles). They can be purchased in many places but here is a link to Amazon.
The Relationship Spread
For this Reading to be of any benefit, it is essential that The Querant or the One doing the Enquiring be as Open and Accepting to whatever the Cards Reveal. Very often when starting out in a Relationship, or when a certain Stage has been reached, there may be some concern or confusion as to whether your Partner has the same outlook for the Relationship as you do. Do they envisage entering into a long-term commitment with you or have they other plans, plans that possibly do not include you?
This Reading is also useful for when you are in two minds about entering a Relationship with a certain other, or when there is more than one Partner to choose from. You must remember that nothing is ever 100% accurate in Tarot Reading and is also Subject to Interpretation. If you have a certain mind-set towards your Relationship, or decide to indulge in wishful thinking or idealising about your Relationship, or the Potential of a New One, then you may very well get Cards that will fall nicely in line with your way of thinking. They may be nice and romantic, fulfilling your exact desires, but they may not be based on reality. Therefore try your best to let go of any preconceptions or notions and throw it out to the Universe.
This Reading can reveal confusion in a Relationship between Partners or a lack of proper Communication. Therefore it may highlight areas that need to be brought out into the open. If your Reading shows that you see Wedding Bells in your Future and your Partner’s reveals a sense of entrapment or restlessness, then it would be wise to sit down and discuss honestly what both of you are expecting out of the Relationship. Sometimes just talking the issues over can smooth out any areas where there is doubt or concern. If you think your Partner is showing interest in an other, and their Cards reveal total devotion and commitment to you, then you may just be paranoid and certainly this will not have a beneficial effect on the time you spend with each other.
Do not get overly concerned with what comes up in the Reading as you are bound to be anxious when asking such questions about your Partner and your Relationship. I had a client very recently who had one of those enviable problems. She had three guys interested in her and she wanted to see which out of the three might be the most suitable to go for. She was looking for a Steady, Stable Relationship, and not just a fling or short-lived affair, so she didn’t want to waste her time on a guy who would not be around for long. We did three separate Readings for each Guy after picking a Significator for Each. We took note of the Significator and then put the Cards back in The Deck. For Each Reading we Cleared the Deck of The Previous Reading Energy and also made sure that any Reversed Cards had been Uprighted. We then Shuffled and Reversed a Few while asking the following Question.
First Shuffle and Selection of Cards is for Yourself/Querant – The Potential of a Loving Relationship From Querant’s Point of View. Draw Five Cards and Place them Face Down in Front of You.
Cleanse and Upright The Cards Once More before Shuffling (Remember to Reverse a Few) while asking the same Question but now – The Potential of a Loving Relationship from Your Partner’s Point of View. Make sure to name the Person in full for extra clarity as Partner could also refer to a business partner. Also be very clear in your intention that the Relationship is one of Love and Romance. Draw Five Cards and Place them Face Down in Front of You.
If you do not wish to exclude any Cards from the Second Set of Five, then you can use Two Decks, one for The Querant and one For the Partner.
When you are ready turn over the First Five Cards and Read these before turning over the Second Line of Five Cards. If you turn them all over at the same time, it will be very hard to stay focussed. When both Lines have been analysed and compared, it should hopefully map out the Relationship from both points of view. You may discover that you are lovingly singing from the Same Hymn Sheet, are Completely Out of Tune or just have to do a little Practice before you can both sing in Harmony. Extra Cards can be drawn for clarification.

Q. I used to go out with Johnny years ago when we were in High School, but he then went to college overseas. We did write for some time but it eventually ceased. To be honest I hadn’t thought about him in ages but last week I bumped into him on the street. He looks great and we hugged and everything. He asked me to join him for a drink this week. Since I met him I just can’t stop thinking about him and am panicking about what I should wear when I see him next. I wonder how he feels about me after all this time?

The Personal Year Plan
Whatever it is that we personally want to achieve in any given year, it is a good idea to write down our aspirations in a similar manner one would write a Business Plan with Short Term, Medium Term and Long Term Goals. What are our objectives for the coming months? Where do we want to see ourselves by the end of the year? Where do we want to be? Who do we want to be more like? How do we want to look? We should also think long and hard about our Strengths and Weaknesses in relation to achieving our set Goals. Where do we normally excel and where do we typically fall flat on our face? What comes easy to us and what do we find difficult? What natural resources, talents or skills can we put to better use? What Personality Aspects do we need to channel in order to achieve our Goals? We should also write a Mission Statement for the year ahead after reviewing all our information.
Like any Business Plan, our Personal Year Plan should be reviewed regularly and adjusted, modified or amended accordingly. We do have a tendency to think we can achieve more than we actually can. Things generally take longer than we allow for. Also, life can sometimes get in the way and throw curve balls at us that result in knocking us off our disciplined path and disturbing our equilibrium. After such times it can be difficult to settle back down and get back on track again. We shouldn’t beat ourselves up when this happen as we cannot make allowances for everything. I am sure you are familiar with the old saying ‘and so go the best laid plans’. We can only do our best, but should life get in the way throughout the year, just like when we have weak a moment, break our diet and binge eat, it does not mean that it is all over. It is important to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and continue from where we left off. We can still achieve some of our Goals by the end of the year. The rest can be carried forward into next year. The thing is to try our best.
Below is a way of using The Tarot to determine what Goals we need to set at the beginning of any New Year. This is done by looking at each of the Four Suits which represent four areas or approaches to life. choosing Cards from each of these Suits we can build our Personal Year Plan. We must also look at the Court Cards in each Suit as they will represent the four aspects of our personality, which with a bit of work and a dose of courage can be adopted or channelled to achieve our aims. We may need to style ourselves on a Personality Type that is unfamiliar or uncomfortable to to us. Basing this on just The Four Queens alone, it may be a case of having to step into The Queen of Wands shoes to become more assertive or independent, or perhaps The Queen of Cups to encourage us to be softer and more loving, or to stimulate our imagination and artistic abilities. We may choose The Queen of Swords to help us with mental discipline or communication, even speaking up for ourselves. We may need to call on The Queen of Pentacles to make us more domesticated, nurturing, healthy, better at managing our finances or more business-like.
We must then look to The Major Arcana for the powerful forces which will act as our Key Motivators to achieving our Goals. These will represent our Ultimate Objectives for the year ahead. These Cards can be viewed on a regular basis to determine how we are progressing. Do we feel closer or more connected to them as the months go on or do they seem as elusive as ever? Our aim must be to eventually meld into our chosen Major Arcana so that we are in a position to say ‘yes, this is me, this is I’. You need to feel suffused with the powerful energy of these Cards. Let these Ultimate Objective Cards be your Guiding Light throughout the Year.

I have just finished completing my Past Life Tarot Reading Part II and is now ready for viewing. The story is quite interesting and very dramatic, but you will probably notice, as I did, that the story line has a similar theme or feel to the Fictional Drama I am writing about The Knight of Wands at present. Part Two of that will be ready to rock and roll in the next few days. Now there could be many reasons for this but I have also explained in Part II of The Reading that I did set the intention for The Past Life Reading to be especially useful from a Teaching Point of view. Therefore, the Reading was more about my students rather than a very personal one. As I have mentioned in Part II, it would be lovely to think that I had been some kind of warrior or leader in a Past Life but that I would not put too much importance on This Reading being factual or even from a Past Life. If you have read any of my articles on Past Life Therapy you will know that the Past Life being recalled may be coming from several sources, especially the subconscious.
The Story may not be actually true, I may not have had a Past Life as such but what the subconscious often does is confabulate a story, a bit like it does when one is dreaming, complete with characters, events, dramas and real emotion. It does this not to fool you or deceive you, but purely to get a message of some sort across to you. That is why throughout the Readings I have asked you to dwell on the Cards drawn and make notes as to what relevance they have in your life.
Whether you believe in Past Lives or not, this is very good exercise and much can be gleaned about your personality and how your life is proceeding, both on a positive and negative level. There will be a message in the story-line which you will certainly resonate with and give much to think about. This type of Reading is excellent for improving and developing your story-telling skills and helps you look at the Card Meanings from a whole new prospective. Your Reading abilities will certainly benefit, and your understanding of each Card deepen. You will also find you are beginning to make connections and links between Cards more rapidly with barely having to think about it.
*Do not take the information in these Past Life Readings too seriously, or dramatically alter your current life based on the information given unless it is truly for your highest good. This advice applies to all Card Readings and not just Past Life ones. Instead, dwell or meditate on the information and see if there are any common threads, themes or personalities in your Current Life and make some comparisons. Tarot is a wonderful self-guidance and self-development tool. It is like having your own on-site psychologist who is ready and waiting to tell you why things are happening in your life, and the role you play in them. You might be surprised what you learn about yourself in the process.
*Remember, Past Life Tarot Readings should be treated as an interesting line of investigation only, and not taken for true facts or actual events. Often the Subconscious throws us a fictional story-line. It may not be factual, but will very likely mirror some actual issues and challenges that one is facing, or has faced in the past. It should be used on a constructive basis for moving forward in life and not for dwelling or living in the past.

Coming Soon – Part Two of The Knight of Wands Drama. I have decided to incorporate all The Knights into this story, so each one will be introduced into the Drama as the remaining Knight of Cups, Knight of Swords and Knight of Pentacles have been updated and re-worked.
In the next week, I shall be turning my attention to The Knight of Cups and hopefully bring him to life. He must now take his turn under the spotlight so that we may all get to know this gentle, gallant and charming (too charming at times!) young man. He is a very different chappie to The Dynamic Knight of Wands but never forget that no matter how loving and caring he may come across, he is under the influence of Fire as well as his own Element Water. Sometime the Fire in him can overshadow his Watery side so he does have his own ‘wild, bad boy’ aspect to him, even if it is in a Cups kind of way. I will explain more when we get to him.
In the meantime, I do hope you enjoy reading the Past Life Tarot Reading Part II

Hello to all my Tarot Enthusiasts around the World,
The Horse Shoe Spread
Well I am back and I have with me the Horse Shoe Spread Practice Reading Interpretation. This time I have taken you step by step through the process I have used to interpret the Reading followed by the actual Reading itself. There is a lot to read so please take your time.
The Querant has given his permission for me to use this Reading for teaching purposes. His identity remains anonymous for privacy purposes. However, many of you Reading his story will identify with it. It may mirror your own story or perhaps someone you know. This is because when it comes to certain life situations, there is little that happens that has not occurred before, over and over again. When it comes to relationship problems, separation and divorce, the same stories play out over and over again all around the world. I have heard this man’s story from several clients over the years. The names, ages and locations may be different, but little else is. They become Archetypal. The Tarot being full of Archetypes and Archetypal Behaviour and Situations is an excellent tool for interpreting such issues.
I do hope you pick up some valuable tips in relation to Linking and Connecting Cards when Reading as I have done my best to guide you through this process.

Hi to All My Tarot Friends,
Layout for Horse Shoe Spread
(Please note this image is for layout purposes only and does not show the Cards for the Reading)
Cards for Reading
Base Card – Judgement (XX) Major Arcana
Card 1 – 2 of Swords Reversed
Card 2 – 10 of Wands
Card 3 Near Future – 7 of Wands and 5 Wands
Card 4 Answer – 10 of Cups
Card 5 (Surrounding Energies) – 9 Pentacles/4 Wands
Card 6 (Hopes and Fears) – 6 Swords
Card 7 (Outcome) – 8 of Wands
Here is The Horse Shoe Spread for you to have a go at (see layout above). The Practice Reading I have posted below is based on this Spread. It is a Reading I did a few years ago. I have been given permission from the Querant to use it for Practice Reading purposes when teaching. The Horse Shoe Spread is very popular among Readers of all levels and can be used for multi-purpose Readings. It is a variation of the Celtic Cross Spread. It has a basic shape of 7 Cards laid out anti-clockwise in a Horse Shoe shape (click here to see exact layout of Practice Reading) . In the Reading below, extra Cards have been drawn for some of the positions at the request of the Querant at the time. When doing Readings, it is perfectly fine to add extra Cards in a Spread, but try not to add too many as the Reading is liable to get confusing. In addition to the Cards drawn for the Spread, I have also added the Base Card.
The Base Card is the Card that is found at the bottom of the Deck, after all shuffling has been completed, and before Cards are drawn. It is the very last Card in the Deck. The Base Card often yields substantial information about the nature of the Reading, and as a Stand Alone Card, it can be uncannily accurate. The Base Card should be looked at before any other Cards. If its meaning is not clear at first, it will likely make its relevance apparent as the Reading progresses.
It is important to understand what area a Position in a Spread covers. It is best to approach each Position with a flexible and open-mind. This is important for the Querant to understand too. For instance, Querants do not always understand what the Past Position means. They can take it too literally; they can think it refers to the recent past or distant, but not both. You may see something in their Past Position Card and go to great lengths to explain what it is. The Querant can look blank and say it has no meaning for them. This gets you off to a bad start. You may see a broken relationship in the past that is causing them problems, but they disagree with you. Later in the Reading this comes out again and again before the Querant eventually makes a connection saying, ‘oh yes, there was a relationship, but that was over a year ago. I thought you meant in the last couple of months’. So a two-way flow of communication is very important. The Querant must know what you are referring to in relation to time spans and what the Position implies. However, do not get bogged down in having rigid views.
The Horse Shoe Spread has Seven Positions.
Position 1 – The Past (This can be any time from a couple of weeks ago to two years ago. Depending on the Reading, and if you get a sense about it, it may refer to the distant past or childhood. Experience and practice will help with this. This Card should give background information as to the root cause of the situation i.e. where it is coming from).
Position 2 – The Present (approx. 3/4 weeks each way, but it may be more than that, so keep an open mind. This Card should yield information about what is happening in and around the situation at the moment. This Card can also throw some light on the people who are involved if Court Cards are present.
Position 3 – The Near Future (approx. 3/4 months) This Card should give an indication of where the situation is heading based on the last two Cards, how it is likely to develop. Here is where the first bit of constructive advice can be given if the Card appears to be negative or unwelcome. The Past cannot be changed, the Present is happening now, but the Querant does have the power to take steps to change the future. They can do this by changing their attitude, behaviour, feelings and actions. If the Card is a Major (one of the 22 Cards of The Major Arcana), then the situation will be quite difficult to change as these Cards indicate a more fixed state.
Position 4 – The Answer (one of the most confusing Cards and needs a lot of practice to understand its nature. The Answer does not mean the Outcome. The Answer can represent The Desired Outcome and may not be based on reality, but more like wishful thinking. The Answer can represent advice, or the solution to the situation or issue, but it does not mean that it will occur or be taken on board. The Answer can act as confirmation or reiteration for the Outcome Card, suggesting that yes, it is the best Outcome under the circumstances. The Answer Card if in opposition to the Outcome Card, can suggest that you are heading for the wrong Outcome by the choices you are making. The route you are taking is not in your best interest, there is another way.
If you are looking for a definite ‘Yes’, then the Outcome and Answer Card should both be Upright. A Reversed Answer Card can indicate blocks or set-backs to the Desired Outcome. Once again, if the Answer Card is a Major Card, either Upright or Reversed it carries more weight than a Minor Card.
The Answer Card can also stand as a representation of the Querant, highlighting their personality or where they stand in the situation and how it is affecting them.
The Answer Card in The Horse Shoe Spread is generally read last. However, should you see a very positive Outcome and Answer Card from the outset, it can be very reassuring to let the Querant know this. When both Outcome and Answer Cards appear Negative or Reversed attention should not be immediately drawn to them. The Reading should be worked through so that the Querant is gently guided and assisted in understanding the reasoning and logic behind them.
Position 5 – The Surrounding Energy (Another difficult one for Readers to interpret. It is a bit like the Base Card, but instead of it giving you background information, it will let you know the general feel surrounding the issue or situation. It can show how others are perceiving the issue, family and friends for instance, and whether the atmosphere is either positive or negative. It can expose information that the Querant may not necessarily wish to reveal, therefore, hidden agendas or the ‘real story’ can turn up in this area)
Position 6 – Hopes and Fears – This is quite straight forward. If it is an apparent Negative Card, then it represents the Querant’s Fears about the situation. It is also shows that they are quite pessimistic about the Outcome. Their Fears can be discussed and extra Cards may need to be drawn to get to the root of these fears. If it is an apparent Positive Card, it reflects the Querant’s Hopes, and suggests they are quite optimistic about the Outcome and have a positive outlook.
Position 7 – Outcome – This Card represents the Probable Outcome and not a definite Outcome. In Tarot, nothing is set in stone or absolute. No guarantees should ever be given. Telling a Querant that a certain Tarot Card is telling them exactly what is going to happen or what they have to do is interfering with the individual’s freedom of choice. No matter how excellent a Tarot Reader you think you are, you can never be 100% accurate.
The Outcome suggests the most likely Outcome based on the attitudes, actions, behaviour, feelings and thoughts of all involved, if the situation continues as it is. If the Outcome Card is Positive and Welcome, it suggests that there is great potential for all to work out in the end. This can be very reassuring for the Querant. If the Outcome Card is Negative and Unwelcome, then it can suggest that the Querant is unlikely to be happy about how things are going to work out. They may not get what they want. If you are using Reversed Cards, they may have appeared in the Reading highlighting blocks, negative mind-sets or behaviour that is stymieing a successful Outcome. Constructive advice can be given or extra Cards drawn for further insight. Look to the Answer Card in Position 4 for advice, solutions or options. It is quite common to do a second Reading using a Negative Outcome Card as the focus, with the intention of seeking constructive advice and a way forward for the Querant.
Along with Reading the individual Positions, you should be observant of Cards that are opposite each other, and diagonal to each other. If there are Court Cards, note which way they are facing and which Card is opposite them. For instance, a Court Card directly opposite an apparent Negative Card can throw light on who is causing the problem.
The above all sounds very complicated but only because it is written down. We automatically arrive at these assumptions in our everyday life as we go about our business and when communicating with those around us. No one thing ever stands alone without having an effect of one sort or another on others, or the atmosphere around it. In our everyday life we are constantly making connections and linking one bit of information with another in order to arrive at an assumption or the facts. When we watch movies, TV dramas and soap operas, we actively and consciously participate in looking at a scenario from many different angles and perspectives. We analyse the characters and their personalities, search for flaws, inconsistencies, hidden agendas. We try to second guess or predict what will happen next and declare loudly to all ‘I knew that was going to happen’ when it actually does. When asked by those present with us ‘how did you come up with that?’, you are ready and waiting with a list of all the observations, links and connections you have made. Some around you may have come up with similar conclusions or were way off the mark. We all know there are some much better than the rest of us at working out complicated plots and puzzling situations. Some of us are natural Police Officers, Detectives. Then there are those who are inclined in a Forensic manner. There are those who have a combination of the above, with minds, eyes and ears that are acrobatic, elastic and extremely rapid. Their minds flit this way and that, calculating and analysing continuously, while their eyes miss nothing and their ears here all. Bringing a Tarot Reading together does involve having to cover many angles all at the one time, a bit like watching a tv drama or movie when you are not just content to sit there waiting for the end to find out ‘who did it’. You want to work it out for yourself, and so must apply yourself to the task, and not just be a passenger. Intense detective and forensic work goes into Tarot Readings on many occasions. It takes time to be successful at juggling it all. In time like any decent Forensic Detective or Sleuth knows, it becomes instinctive and automatic.
So if you are ready to have a go at making links and connections, have an attempt at the Reading by clicking here or on the Link below. This Link will take you to the Practice Reading – The Horse Shoe Spread. Read the Querant’s Question several times and make sure that your Reading keeps coming back to the Question. Set your imagination and subconscious free. Set you mind to analytical mode. Let them report back to you with their findings. See what you come up with. I will post a transcription of this Reading next week which will should allow sufficient time for interpretation. You can then compare your Interpretation with mine.
Remember it would be really weird if you were all to come up with the exact same interpretation as mine, so do not expect to. Your Reading will be a reflection of your own personal style of interpretation.

The Querant – Male. Late Fifties. Quiet spoken and a bit unsure as to what will come of the Reading. Slow to communicate in the beginning, but once he settles into the Reading and sees how relevant all the Cards are he becomes quite animated and leans closer to view the imagery on the Cards for himself. He has never had a Tarot Card Reading before but connects quite quickly to their symbolic nature. He sees things in the Cards himself and points them out to me as we go along.
The Question – I am going through a difficult time at the moment and would like to know what the next year holds for me. I am filing for divorce, have a lot going on in work and can’t seem to see the wood for the trees. My divorce is not amicable so I know it is going to be tough going. The good thing is, I am in a very strong relationship but feel I cannot fully commit until I am totally free. I feel tired of it all right now and would love to see some sort of light at the end of the tunnel.

Calling all Tarot Students,
This Card Reading is excellent for getting to the heart of love and relationships. It is ideal for anyone who desires to draw romance and love into their lives. I did not design this myself but found it on the internet some years ago and have used it successfully on many occasions. The Looking for Love Spread, will expose areas where you may be unconsciously blocking a loving relationship from coming into your life. It will offer both guidance on how to overcome and release these blocks, together with suggestions as to who might be a suitable partner and where you are most likely to meet him or her. To get the most out of this Reading it is wise to detach yourself or advise the Querant to detach them self as much as possible from the outcome. Being honest with yourself and being open to other possibilities and potentials is important.
Have a go at this Spread before you look at my interpretation. When you do, I want you to look closely as to how I have interpreted the Cards to suit the Spread and also the position within the Spread. Play with the meanings of the cards. Work out how I came up with the interpretation that I did. Bend them, twist them and read between the lines. Look at the metaphorical meanings behind the Cards and not just the literal ones. Stretch your imagination and be creative. Piece together the story in front of you bit by bit and then pull it together so that it makes sense and is understandable. Open your mind and heart. Listen to what your inner-voice is telling you. I am not expecting you to come up with the same interpretation as mine as that would be impossible. However, see if you find any correlations or similarities.
This time I have interpreted the cards with input from the Querant. This is a genuine Reading so be especially observant as to the importance of the two-way flow of communication between myself and the Querant. See how the Reading opens up as a result and the benefits that are ultimately obtained. This is the difference between a Fortune-Telling Reading and a Tarot Consultancy.
You will need Six Cards for this Spread. Once the Cards are shuffled, pick the Card that is at the bottom of the Deck. This is not part of the Six Cards. It is the Base Card and may give you some background insight into the situation. Set this Card aside before selecting the Six Cards. Make sure that the Cards are Cleansed, Shuffled and Selected according to your personal choice. Lay the cards out as follows:
Looking For Love Spread
Base Card – 5 of Swords Rx
Base Card – Gives background information.
Card 1 – What are the underlying causes that have prevented or blocked you from meeting your perfect partner?
Card 2 – What can you do to make the necessary changes or overcome the issues in revealed in card 1?
Card 3 – What is the best step to take right now in order to find your perfect partner?
Card 4 – Who would be the most suitable partner for me?
Card 5 – Where am I most likely to meet my perfect partner?
Card 6 – When am I most likely to meet my perfect partner?
So we have three Cup Cards in this Reading which strongly links it to a Relationship Scenario but before you go rushing off to triumphantly announce a happy ever after story, look again for there are a few issues, challenges or obstacles that may be causing issues or blocks to the Querant achieving their dream or goal. Take your time and don’t forget to take all influencing elements into play. Along with the actual presenting Elements, take the Numerical Energy of the Cards into consideration as well. Play with the Reversed ones as best you can and see how they may be influencing the situation. Keep refering back to the Question and very importantly, the meaning of the Card Position or Placing. If you need to re-cap on the Cards above, just click on the relevant Card to go directly to the Individual Card Page.
Interpretation will be posted on the 10th of January 2013. Best of Luck.
