May I wish you a very peaceful, healthy and happy 2017!
After taking a break from writing in November, I am now back in the saddle and have been busy creating some special new content. Part of my reason for taking a break was to step back for a while and reflect on the direction Truly Teach Me Tarot has headed since its humble launch in 2012, along with the viability in continuing full-time commitment to such a large project. With me being the sole author, creator, web developer and site administrator, running and maintaining teachmetarot.com has become a full-time job, a job that unfortunately does not pay! I have given much thought to how I can continue this level of commitment along with keeping a roof over my head. With about 9,000 views a day from over 200 countries my aim is to keep this site ‘Free for All’. I really hope I can continue to do so. Other than recently signing up to WordAds, the only income generated from this site is via Donations. To date I have received a total of 5 Donations for which I am extremely grateful. My site is hosted by Free Hosting WordPress, and has limited commercial potential. For such heavy daily traffic, my site would need a Dedicated Server to avoid crashing and slow page loading. Unfortunately, the cost of such a service is quite out of reach.
So, as we enter the new year, I have decided to take a bold step forward for 2017 by releasing some new ‘Extra Special Content’ for those tarot students and enthusiasts who want to enhance and expand on their interpretation repertoire.
From February, I will be introducing some content changes and monitoring its progress. Some content may be removed or altered. Other than that, Truly Teach Me Tarot will continue to run as normal, allowing free access to any content published on site. I will continue to write and add new ‘free content’ throughout the year. There will also be an option to purchase PDF Downloads of Site content for a small fee. Notice of available Downloads will be posted as soon as they have been formatted for download release.
**Further Information To Follow**
New, ‘Extra Special, Download Only Content’ will be created as stand alone modules, and will not be included as on site content. Instead these New Modules will be available to Purchase as PDF Downloads for personal viewing and study.
For interested Tarot Tutors, I am considering offering a ‘Licence To Teach’ on most of these Modules. Terms and conditions will apply along with a Licence Fee. Further information will be released in the near future.
**Please Email Me at firstname.lastname@example.org To Register Your Interest, or Use the Comments Box Below**
The first Download Only content will be released in February with:
The Wands’ Book of Love
The Wands’ Book of Love, is Module 1 of a Series of 5. Each Module in this Series takes an in-depth look at each card, both Upright and Reversed, in a particular Suit, as well as Major Arcana, for Relationship Analysis and Interpretation. Modules also cover analysis of Governing Elements, and the Personalities involved in Relationships under each Suit. Cards are intensely explored and analysed to yield as many options as possible based on their driving element. The aim of these ‘Books of Love’ Modules, is to encourage Tarot Students to Flex their mind, look beyond the obvious, and explore different perspectives. It also facilitates greater connection with the imagery of each card and the array of sublime messages or stories they convey. The content created is a fusion of traditional, non-traditional and personal connections. In writing these Modules, I have attempted to cover as many approaches as possible. There should be something for everyone.
To get a taste for what these Modules will have to offer, I have inserted an excerpt from The Wands’ Book of Love. The card being explored is The Two of Wands both Upright and Reversed. Each Module contains a large volume of content and will have three download options. With full colour images, with black and white images and without images. This is to ease reduction on ink if printing Module Content.
There will be a Special Offer Price at Launch of First Module. Information on pricing will follow.
Except From – The Wands’ Book of Love
Two of Wands – Don’t Know What I Want Anymore
2 – Decisions about relationships. Being at a crossroads. Weighing up Pros and Cons. Being in two minds.
Two of Wands – Weighing up the pros and cons of a relationship. Finding balance or not. Decision time. Relationship Crossroads. Choosing between two partners. Not really sure about the relationship. Something is wrong as you do not feel fulfilled. You are not content and have doubts about staying or going. Nothing obviously wrong but the fire may have diminished. Withdrawal, disconnected. Focus elsewhere. Grass is greener on other side. You want more out of a relationship. Feeling trapped or restricted. A decision about the taking the next step in a relationship. Wanting to rush into a relationship but circumstances or doubts may hold you back. Hankering after a love from far away. Big decisions about relocating for a couple. Action has to be taken soon. The Sudden departure of a partner or lover. A couple with differing needs. Internet dating.
You certainly have invested a lot in this relationship and need to know if your partner feels the same. You feel that the relationship has reached an impasse, or fallen into a comfort zone, when really, further progress should be made. You have created a certain life together and believe it should now move on to something more. You seek commitment and security of relationship. You are prepared to make a go of it but you might sense your partner needs more convincing. It might be time to sit down with your partner to discuss long-term goals for the relationship and the best way forward.
The Crossroads – Decision Making Time
In the Two of Wands, we arrive at the sobering up stage in a relationship as it reaches a crossroads. A decision has to be made and action taken. You may feel under pressure from others. The initial high energy of the Ace of Wands has worn off, the excitement eventually calmed. It is time to take stock of the relationship to see where both parties stand. In the Ace of Wands, we explored the crazy in love stage. That has now passed. In the Two, the couple must decide if they want to explore the relationship further. We now see the two sides involved and can get an idea of how they might differ. One Wand is bolted to the wall which could suggest the desire for commitment, to be bound to another. He or she might want something more stable and secure. The other Wand, although held in the hand of the figure in this card, is free to move. The figure holding the Wand stands with his back to the Wand bolted to the wall. He stares out to sea and across to foreign lands. The globe in his hand represents his world and he must decide what it means to him before a decision can be made. Read the rest of this entry
Hello to all my Tarot Friends,
Below you will find some Mini Tarot Horoscopes for the week ahead. As Tarot Students you will wonder how and why I chose certain interpretations out of the myriad of versions available for each Card. It would be impossible to detail absolutely every associated meaning, so as I drew the Cards I simply went with the first thoughts that came to my mind. Each Mini Horoscope below could be rewritten several times over to provide alternative interpretations, but we would be here all week. The Mini Horoscopes are a great way to test your skills and ability with Snap Shot Readings. This comes in particularly useful when doing Readings for Groups of people when there is no time to go into great depth. When a Card is drawn, look for the first thread that presents itself to your eye and mind. Then run with it and work a story around it.
Why not try this exercise yourself and compile Weekly or Monthly Mini Tarot Horoscopes for your friends and family.

Pisces(Feb 20-Mar 20) – The Five of Wands
It’s just going to be one of those weeks. Nothing will seem to go to plan and the world may seem against you. Expect the unexpected and keep calm. Everyone seems to be tetchy right now so try not to take it personally. Emotionally you will feel all over the place and it will be difficult to settle or find peace anywhere.

Hail to All my Tarot Friends Far and Wide,
I am thrilled to announce that the long-awaited Re-worked Knight of Cups is now ready for viewing. I got pretty carried away with this Knight in Shining Armour so there is a bit of reading involved which I do hope you will all enjoy. Take your time going through all the Information and Personality Description that accompanies this Fair Knight of The Cups Suit. It may seem like a lot of information at first glance but really this Knight is very Self-Explanatory and once you get the gist of him, you will say ‘Ah yes, I now understand what he is all about’. Many of his meanings both Upright and Reversed are similar. It is just a matter of applying them to the Specific Area you are dealing with, and very importantly, consulting all the other Cards in the Spread along with The Question. Should you draw The Knight of Cups in a One Card Reading, it would be advisable to draw a Second, and even Third Card so that you can get a better insight as to what Message he holds for you.
Some Exercises for The Knight of Cups will follow next week and I will add the next installment of The Drama of The Four Knights in the near future.
To View this Dashing Knight in Full Detail, please CLICK HERE, THE KNIGHT OF CUPS or Click on The Image Below.
THE KNIGHT OF CUPS
As with all the other Re-worked Cards there is an alternative option where you can view just the Keywords and Meanings of this Knight both Upright and Reversed without the Lengthy Card Imagery Description and Personality Profile. Just Click Here to go Directly to The Shorter Version.
Happy Reading and Studying,

Greetings to all on this Wednesday Morning,
May Blossom in My Local Forest, Donadea, Co. Kildare, Ireland
I trust you all had a lovely weekend and managed to enjoy yourselves. Monday was a Public Holiday in Ireland associated with May Day and Bealtaine. All the schools were closed and many people off work allowing them the freedom to enjoy a long weekend. However, even though we have just officially started into summer, the weather in Ireland for the weekend was pretty miserable. Heavy dark, dull and gloomy skies with strong wind and regular downpours of rain. It was cold and damp, more resembling a mid October day than a fine early summer one.
I have been working very hard in the last week trying to write for this site while building, configuring and driving myself insane trying to fix things that refuse to fix on my new WordPress.org site. There is a lot of work involved in preparing it so that it is ready to take over from this site, and to be honest, it is a bit of a juggling act working between the two. I was told by a WordPress trainer last week that because I am changing the site name from teachmetarot.wordpress.com to trulyteachmetarot.com all the hyperlinks I have created at the end of all the pages will have to be manually changed. This is also to do with the fact that I have changed some of the Lesson Titles, therefore changing the page URL. I thought when I did a site redirect it would do all that for me but because I have made so many changes, the links will break. Therefore there is nothing for it but hard old slog. As a result, I am splitting my time between posting on this site and trying to get some more writing done re the Cards and Lesson Content, while the rest of the time configuring the new site. I feel frustrated because it is taking me away from the time I should be spending writing.
Also, my health is a bit up and down at the moment with many hospital appointments to attend; scans, MRIs and a variety of other tests. As a result, my weeks have gotten fairly broken up. Some of you already know that I also make Vintage Style Boudoir Dolls for a hobby and due to all the above have been losing out on the precious time to spend working on them. With it being the Long Weekend just gone, and the weather so poorly, I decided I needed a break from The Computer but was also stressed about the fact that I have so much work to do on it. I decided to ask The Tarot Cards and The Universe what I should do, and let them decide for me. I would take their decision as the one that was in my best interests. Well, sort of!
I sat for a while and worked out how I would go about it. What I wanted to know was, What should I spend my weekend working on? Configuring the New Site or Finishing my Latest Boudoir Doll, Gladys?
First I decided that I would pick out Cards to represent both Options and The Personality Aspects involved. This is what I came up with:
For Working on The Computer and my New Site I chose the Following:
The Queen of Swords the Writer and all Mental Work involved in Configuring the New Site, and The Emperor who rarely goes off duty and is strongly disciplined.
To Represent The Situation I chose:
The Three of Pentacles to demonstrate how I am still at the learning stage and in need of guidance as to how to do, and set up certain things on my new site. I am very much the novice, the apprentice. I then chose The Two of Pentacles which symbolised the juggling act I am doing with the two sites, trying to keep both going, and having to get to grips with all the techie information overload of configuring my own site. I chose the Reversed Seven of Pentacles to symbolise my tendency to never take a break from all the back-breaking work and The Four of Swords to represent the mental exhaustion I felt after a week of hard slog on the computer.
I then Chose Cards to Highlight The Underlying Drive behind the above Cards:
The Devil to highlight how enslaved I felt this last week. Chained to my desk and The Devil telling me I had to stay there and shouldn’t be thinking about going anywhere too soon. I chose The Chariot to highlight the strong and determined stance I normally take when someone, especially my partner, suggests I take a break. ‘Can’t stop now, must keep going, work, work, work, work, can’t cut myself some slack, must maintain a forward momentum’ and The Hermit to represent me turning into some sort of recluse and not seeing anyone or even remotely socialising. I will grow old and wizened sitting at my computer.
For Working on my Boudoir Doll I selected The Following:
The Queen of Cups to represent The Artistic and Creative work of Crafting Dolls and The Empress, Patroness of The Arts, Creative Hobbies and also Leisure Time. She was shouting at me to take a break.
To Represent the Situation, I chose:
The Eight of Pentacles to symbolise the deep love I have for my Boudoir Doll Hobby, and how meticulous I am about the fine detail of their finish. The Pentacles on the tree represented the dolls I have already made. Although they take a lot of hard work and much time, it is a labour of love. The Nine of Cups I chose for simply pleasing myself and thinking of what I wanted for a change. The Star obviously reflects the strong creative aspect of crafting my Boudoir Dolls, and my desire for a break. The Sun echoes this creativity and the joy I get out of the birthing process of each doll. It also reveals my deep desire to have a bit of freedom from The Devil above, if only for a couple of days.
To Represent What was driving this particular option I chose:
Judgement to symbolise the call from within that was pulling me away from the Computer and my Desk. The Lovers because I was aware that this was a holiday weekend and I should be spending more time with my partner who often paints, plays the guitar or writes poetry while I craft my dolls. When I work on the Computer I do not encourage distraction or conversation as it breaks my thought processes. Temperance linked to Judgement affirming that I needed some balance in my life and a bit of a vacation from hard mental slog.
I then Threw it out to The Universe and Chose The Wheel of Fortune to represent letting it decide my fate for the weekend:
However Underneath it I placed The High Priestess to indicate that I knew myself what it was I wanted to do. I didn’t really need to be consulting the Cards as my mind was very much made up.
I then put the remaining Cards together and shuffled to discover what The Universe and The Tarot thought was in my best interests. I set the intention that The Outcome or Answer would be for my Highest and Greatest Good. I decided that for a Yes to continuing working on the computer for the weekend, The Ace of Swords would be the Card and for a Yes to working on my Doll, The Ace of Cups would be the Card.
I shuffled the Cards whilst dwelling on the two options. I did not Reverse any Cards as it was not necessary. I then put the Shuffled Deck on The Table and started to turn over Cards one at a time. The First of The Two Selected Above to appear would be the deciding factor. I turned the Cards over slowly and knew what I was wishing for (probably Tainted the Reading as a result). And then it appeared. There was my first of the Two Selected Aces:
So it was Decided for me. The Wheel of Fortune had turned and stopped at The Ace of Cups. It was confirmed and I had nothing to feel guilty about. I was going to work on my Doll, Gladys for the weekend. The Queen of Swords and The Emperor would have to cosy up with The Devil and The Chariot with The Hermit watching them all in silence, while I frittered away my time sewing beads onto a blouse and making underwear and a suede handbag to match my doll’s dainty shoes and elegant hat. With such a positive clap on the back I was determined I would finish her before the weekend was out so that I would have something to show for all my effort. I wanted to thank The Wheel of Fortune for being kind to me. Guess what? I did just that so I have decided to share some photos of her and I do hope you like her as much as I do.
Let me now Introduce Gladys:

Greetings to all my Tarot Friends,
The Hare among The Flowers – Artwork by Isabelle Lynch
Well, it has been one of those weeks again. Hard to get to my work done due to life getting in the way, obligations and the ever-present Hospital Appointments that take up the whole day just to have one fifteen minute chat with my consultant. I have another Hospital to attend next Monday and I know for sure that this one will definitely take up most of the day yet again. However, I have been getting some work done here and there and am busy working on Lesson Content at present.
I also had a quick look at my Cards over the last week whenever I got the chance just so that I could share their messages with you. I write about this Particular Daily Card Reading for a very special reason as you will find out when you read below. This Reading is important on many levels as the Cards drawn yielded several messages for me. Some of those messages did not reveal themselves to me until much later in the day, in fact just before I went to bed, which urged me to remind you that what you see in the morning in your Cards may or may not make a lot of sense to you, or may appear indecipherable at the time. However, if you get into the habit of leaving the Cards you have drawn in the morning in a place where they will still be visible to you that night, you may find more messages contained within or they might read in a completely different manner. Whichever the case might be, it is wise to get into the habit of comparing your morning interpretation of your Drawn Cards with an evening or night-time interpretation, an After-The-Event-Reading as such.
Hail Fellow Tarotites,
I thought I would share my Daily Card Reading with you today and will do my best, time allowing, to Post them as often as I can as I know you find them useful as a Learning Tool. Oh by the way, I made up that word, Tarotites just now.
This morning, I was lying in bed. I was not fully awake, more like in the tween time, semi-aware that I was awake. I had several flashing images behind my closed eyes and thought I just might fall back to sleep again. With a massive effort I managed to ask my partner what time it was for he always wakes early. I didn’t want to open my eyes just yet and was hoping it was early enough to turn over and go back to sleep. Sadly it was gone 9a.m. and so my mind kicked into gear. Already, I was trying to do a ‘To Do List’ in my head. Today I needed to fit in my writing hours along with doing some long overdue heavy housework, as well as my workout. Time was ticking by and being wasted every extra second I lay in the bed. Today I had planned to start washing down the cupboard tops in the kitchen, I knew they were covered in dust, and also to begin the laborious task of washing the walls which overtime become sooty looking from burning candles at the dinner table and of course my partner’s love of using the wok which always results in a smoky kitchen and me choking from the fumes of chillies and god knows what other red-hot things he puts in his concoctions. It was going to be back-breaking work, but just couldn’t be put off any longer.
I hauled myself from the bed and down the stairs to make the morning coffee and feed the cats. Once that little ritual was over and done I took myself into my little office space and stared down at all the little notes and post its I have made to remind me of things I want to write about, emails to be returned and phone calls to make. While I am writing it often happens that something pops into my mind that is not related to what I am currently working on, but another area of the course, and sometimes areas I have already worked on that need amending. I write these little notes to myself and my desk is littered with them. Half the time when I pick them up, I haven’t a clue what the little notes refers to. I have telephone numbers with no names and one note I looked at this morning just read The Star. I know it was referring to The Star in The Major Arcana, but other than that I was baffled. I then looked at my notebook and that too was covered with little reminders of stuff I wanted to add to Truly Teach Me Tarot and everywhere there were two messages repeated several times, ‘Take more Photos’ and ‘ Organise Videos’ .
I sat down, and for a while just thought of all the work I still had to do on The Course and it seemed like a bottomless pit. I suddenly wondered whether I would have the time today to ring acquaintances of mine in relation to doing some mini courses for me that would tie in nicely with learning The Tarot. I want to make them available on my site in the near future. I know a very good Palm Reader who also teaches Palmistry, a woman who teaches Psychic Development and Mediumship. She is also a Tarot Master and teaches the Tarot as well. Oh, she is an Astrologist as well. An amazing woman, and so down to earth. Then there is the woman who is a Numerologist and has a slot on radio and tv. How are they ever going to know that I want them to put together a few courses for my site if I never actually get around to asking them? So much to do and not enough time. I decided to do my Daily Card Reading before I went any further with my day.
My Cards came out as follows:
As soon as I saw my Cards I quickly looked over my shoulder to see if someone had been watching me for it sure felt like it. There was The Queen of Swords, the Writer staring at The Seven of Cups and asking ‘What is all this mess?’ I saw The Cups in a Symbolic Manner as representing all my pieces of paper and things I had to do. I could see the Figure as me, just staring at them and wondering where do I start and what was that message on that piece of paper in my hand supposed to mean? When had I written it and why? The Figure was looking at all the different areas that needed attention and I suddenly felt that the Figure was a bit overwhelmed by it all. The Queen of Swords was taking no-nonsense from me and her tone was very sharp indeed. She told me in a brisk voice that I needed to create some sort of order out of all the pieces of paper. She asked me where my Daily Diary was and I told her I didn’t have one, but that I had been meaning to get one except I had been too busy. She cut me off with a razor-sharp retort. ‘Well how do you expect to know what you have to do every day if you do not have a Diary to consult?’ I told her that I used the pieces of paper and also had some sort of mental filing system. She was impressed by the last bit, the mental filing system, but threw me a disparaging look. ‘Well it obviously isn’t working very well for you is it, and just look at the mess and clutter on your desk, how can you work properly with all that stuff around you?’ I told her that I was planning on tidying it next week but she cut me off again with ‘is that what I think it is on the floor, propped up against the wall, is it a notice board?’ ‘Yes’, I replied weakly. ‘Well why isn’t it on the wall and being used as it was intended to be?’. ‘I am going to hang it any day now’ again she broke in. ‘And what day do you plan to hang it on the wall, the 12th of never?’ She laughed at her own facetious remark. ‘This weekend, I promise’. ‘Good’ said she ‘I will be checking back to make sure you have.
She then continued with her lecture telling me how much more I would produce if I had some order and plan of action, instead of scratching my head wondering where I should start. She rambled on about the importance of Time Management and wanted to know what I had to achieve today. I told her of my writing, my housework and my workout. She called me towards her and asked for a piece of paper and a pen. She asked me what time it was and I told her it was 10am. ‘Right she said, the best thing is to get the housework out of the way first, so I am going to put you down for Housework until 1.30pm. Then you must stop that and prepare your lunch while your computer is taking its usual, forever time, to come to life. Take your lunch to your desk and eat it while you are checking your emails and any other correspondence that needs to be dealt with. Once lunch is finished, set yourself ‘Three Must Do Tasks’ that you have to complete on your WordPress Site. I want you to work consistently at this until 5pm. Then you must stop and prepare for your workout. You will need a good stretch after sitting at the computer for three and a half hours straight. Once your workout is complete, attend to a few more areas of housework, things you didn’t get finished this morning. After that get your dinner on, and while it is cooking get the ironing board out, iron those curtains you washed yesterday and re-hang them. Before you eat your dinner get set up for your Tarot Client who is arriving early tomorrow morning. Once you have all that done, sit and enjoy your dinner. The rest of the evening is yours to do as you please for you have achieved what you set out to. See how simple it all can be when we plan things properly.’
Just before she heads off she decides to throw me a guarded compliment. Really Vivien, you have achieved so much in such a short time, regardless of the scattered mess on your desk. In reality your output of writing is commendable and you have worked consistently hard at it. Just keep it up and each day that goes by, you are getting that much closer to completion. She throws a look over at The Empress who is waiting to see me and asks her opinion? The Empress asks me to take a good look around her at all the abundant growth she is surrounded by. She says that everything is flourishing and that I am making much progress. She tilts her head up to look at the number III above her head and then looks back at me. Everything is maturing and moving along very nicely, so you do not need to get too worked up about things. Just like the environment I sit in, your work has taken on a life of its own and because you have tended and nurtured it so well, your rewards will be bountiful. However, My dear Queen of Swords, I think you need to use your Sword to cut Vivien some slack as she deserves a break every now and then, time for her to do something just for her. I think you should do something nice tomorrow Vivien once your morning client has gone. Get dressed up and go out somewhere really appealing to your senses, or light the fire and lie on the couch for the afternoon reading a magazine or book. No computer for a full day, if that is possible?’
I listen to both of them for they have valid points. I decide to follow The Queen of Swords Program for the day, and to be honest it works remarkably well, even if I have over run my computer time. I should be finished by 6pm and then can do my workout. Just an hour behind schedule, that’s not bad is it? I certainly will enjoy my wine tonight and will watch my favourite Soaps, and maybe a movie before bed. I got three-quarters of the kitchen done which isn’t bad and a lot of work completed on my Course. I promise to get more organised next week, sort out a diary and hang the notice board on the wall once and for all. I will write proper notes to myself and spend some time detailing a complete list of everything I have to do and then draw up a realistic time frame for doing it in. I don’t want to get a tongue lashing from The Queen of Swords the next time she shows up. I know her heart is in the right place and she just wants the best for me, to push me further than I think I can go. She is great to have around when you need a good pep talk, and the best thing is that she says what she has to say and that’s it. She doesn’t harp on about it after that. She will expect me to have heeded her advice for she does not like having to repeat herself. She believes her communication is crystal clear the first time round.
Right so that is me logging off with just a minute to spare. Bye for now.
xxx Vivien (Your Tarot Teacher)
Greetings to all my Tarot Friends Around the World,
Here are your Tarot Horoscopes for the week ending the 9th of February 2014. As we are now in Spring, the season of Renewal, Rebirth and of course Spring Cleaning, many of the Readings have an air of new beginnings, determination and resolve about them. We are leaving the darkness of the Winter behind and thoughts now turn to what we want of our lives as the days lengthen and the sun grows stronger and higher in the sky. Spring brings hope, positivity and renewed faith in life. I do hope you enjoy the Tarot Horoscopes below but please remember, they are not based on Astrology or the positioning of the planets. I merely shuffle for each Sign and ask the Cards what it is they need to know for the week ahead. Please do not take any of the Horoscopes are absolute for they are but my interpretations, and interpretations done very quickly at that. Treat them as Fun Readings and as a way of enhancing your Story-Telling abilities. When using the Tarot for Horoscopes, the imagination comes into play along with being inventive and creative with your interpretations.
We have been experiencing terrible storms again in Ireland and the internet connections have been unstable for the last few days. As a result I missed posting about Imbolc, The 1st of February and the first day of Spring. Even though the day has now passed, I will complete my writing on it and post it this week as it has relevance for the whole season of Spring and you may find the information of interest. Coming also this week is the Lesson Content for Lesson 9 and 10 of Part I. This content will cover in-depth information about Health Readings, The Tarot Readers Code of Ethics and also a Step-by-Step Guide to conducting a Professional Tarot Reading from beginning to end, along with Practical Guidelines for Tarot Reading. So there will be lots of new reading material for you to digest and assimilate.
Blessings Be, Vivien (your Tarot Teacher)
Tarot Horoscopes for The Week Ahead
Aries – (Mar 21-Apr 20)
Well Aries, this week may very well have been one you have been dreading for some time. Sitting between The High Priestess and The Star Card there you are all up in a heap about something. This is not like you to be so tense and stressed. It is not exactly in your nature but with two Major Arcana Cards sitting on either side of you, they tell me that the issue or issues involved may be quite serious enough and certainly will have long-term impacts. I believe you have quite a difficult decision to make which may be tearing you in two different directions. You may feel that for the first time in your life you are being forced or asked to do something that does not sit very well with you. Others may have seen you as withdrawn or quiet over the weekend as you have been trying to get your head around what you have to do. You certainly are in two minds about the whole thing but The High Priestess been a Major and also a Two acknowledges the important decision you have to make but does not understand why you are finding it so difficult to make. She tells me that deep down you already know which way you must go. She knows you are not used to sitting with yourself and being still enough to tune into your own inner voice and higher guidance, but it is her influence that has made you retreat into your shell and into a quiet corner over the last couple of days. You cannot think properly if you are surrounded by too many distractions and the advice of others who may or may not have your best interests at heart. She used her influence to subtly pull you into that meditative zone and asked you to use that time wisely. She knows that at this stage you cannot see down the road and the consequences of any actions your decision might bring. However, she tells you that you know yourself better than anyone else and now asks you to be weigh up the pros and cons of each side and be truthful and honest with yourself. One of your choices may sound very exciting indeed and you may feel very tempted in that direction but something has shifted and regardless of how other are promoting a certain decision, you know deep down that it is not for you, not you at all and that you will have to conform to the wishes of others. The Star on the other side provides the answer to your decision and has been specifically drawn by The Magical Powers of The High Priestess to help clarify the decision-making process. She knows what you want and now you must admit it yourself. You want to be free to be yourself and to follow your own path and your own dream. Don’t sacrifice your talents and abilities for the sake of what momentarily dazzles. At the end of the day, one option takes you away from all you every desired to be, while the other takes you closer. The first option may seem like the most obvious and will bring instant gratification but it may not last too long, leaving you disillusioned and unhappy. The second option may involve taking a more difficult path but is more linked to your true Soul Purpose. The High Priestess asks you to be careful about the choices you must make this week and asks you to be true to yourself first and foremost for you will have to live with the consequences of your decisions for some time when we see Major Arcana of this nature.
Taurus – (Apr 21–May 21)
Dear Taurus, like Aries above, you find yourself in somewhat a perplexing situation this week. You too have some decisions to make and these decisions also have you acting out of character. You are normally so much in control of everything you do and so sure of what tomorrow will bring that suddenly finding yourself in a position where you are been asked, or asking yourself, to make a rash and risky decision has left you in a state of inner turmoil. You are being asked to do something that quite scares the hell out of you and totally takes you out of your comfort zone. The thing is do you have the guts to do it? Travel may be involved or even total relocation. There is an air of impatience about you Taurus which we don’t often see. Are things not happening fast enough for you? One part of you is rearing to go while the other part holds you back. You must ask yourself, what its is that so worries you, what is it that holds you back? The potential for exciting adventures lies ahead for you this week but you generally prefer safe and predictable. Take a long hard look at the world you have built around you and see if it offers all you desire? Is it enough for you or do you feel that now might be the time to take a giant leap and hop over that wall in the Two of Wands? You look out and away oversea and to other lands. Could it be that you are thinking of either upping and going or maybe just expanding what you currently have? The Five of Wands acknowledges that you really are all over the place about this and that others might be involved. These other individuals may be in disagreement with what you propose or have other ideas they think would be best to follow. They also may be tasks you have to complete before you will be able to make any move. This may be where your impatience is coming from. It is certain that you stand alone in this situation and it is up to you to now make your mind up about whether to stay in the world you have created or see what else is out there; opportunities that you could take advantage of for example. You understand that there is much competition where you stand now but if you were to spread your wings globally you will be playing to a much larger audience. There is unfinished business you need to attend to, even though you see the massive potential that could be, the Wand bolted to the wall holds you back right now. The High Priestess coming in once more asks you to disregard the din, noise and quarrels of the Five of Wands as really they are quite insignificant and are just a storm in a teacup. She knows you Taurus and believes in your capabilities to sort it all out. Do what you think is right but not before you take your time to seriously think things over. This may not all resolve itself by the end of the week as the High Priestess would prefer you not rush things. She knows you will make that move when you are sure that all is in place. Taurus will be quite happy with that advise and will want to ensure that all those opposing forces from The Five of Wands have been sorted before any major move is made.
Gemini – (May 22–June 21)
Gemini, this week finds you beginning to make real progress in areas that you have been developing and maturing. The Star as your central Card is very promising and shows how much you are coming into your own this week. This has not come easily as your typical hyper self has been put to the test recently, which has caused you many set-backs and upsets. Not one for spending time alone, The Hermit shows how you have had to retreat from your normal activities so that you could spend time reflecting on your issues and concerns. Let me tell you that it was time well spent for you are ready to take centre stage again and can put any troubles of the past behind you now. It is onwards and upwards from now on. I feel you may have felt a bit lost in yourself for some time now Gemini but are now in a position with The Star to understand what it is you truly want to do. Being a Gemini, you have so many interests and abilities but your time spent with The Hermit has helped whittle these down to those which resonate with you the most. You have now identified that which you are most suited to and are most interested in. I do believe that this week may find you beginning a course of study or joining a night class. If not, then you may be beginning to do some research in that direction as you are determined to develop your creative side and hone your true talents and skills. You are feeling more confident and positive about what you want now Gemini and I am glad to see that you now feel more balanced and focussed. The week is bound to end on a high for you.
Cancer – ( June 22-July 22)
This week we find Cancerians in a worrying position. In the middle there you sit and you do not look very happy with yourself at all. In fact you look downright disillusioned with the way things work out for you. The Devil on your left suggests entrapment and possibly been fooled into doing something that is just not you. The Devil can be very persuasive and it may all seem so tempting that you could easily be drawn in to a situation quite easily. The problem is that once in, you will see things in a whole new light and it may leave you deeply regretting getting involved at all in the first place. The Page of Swords stands on your other side and acts as a warning about agreeing to or signing up for something that is not what it appears to be. He asks you to be on your guard this week for you may be approached by the Devil in disguise. Cancer, your natural emotional nature may be played to this week so you will have to be on the look out for anyone who may be trying to take advantage of you. Examine everything very closely; documents, contracts, read the small print and terms and conditions for there is likely to be something out-of-order or clauses that bind you into a situation you would never in a million years actively agree to. Be wary of strangers at the door asking you to buy into rock steady schemes and phone calls from organisations claiming to be legit, as they may not be acting in good faith. For those Cancerians who are trying to stick to their New Year Resolutions, you will find it particularly hard this week as temptation lies all around you. You have been so good up until now but boredom with your new diet or exercise regime may have you wanting to throw the towel in and go on a dreadful binge. The Devil is sitting on your shoulder whispering his usual spin and telling you that ‘what is the point in depriving yourself of all the lovely food you desire for we might all be dead tomorrow’. He encourages you to stop at shops that sell all those things you are so trying to avoid. If you are resolved to give up smoking or alcohol, then this week will find you on the brink of breaking your resolution. The Page of Swords asks you to stand firm against the temptations The Devil throws in your way for he does not have your best interests at heart at all. He just wants to get a tight hold of you again. You have done well shaking The Devil off your back and keeping him at bay up until now. Don’t open the door and let him back in this week. It will be hard, but just think of how disgusted you will feel with yourself if you succumb to his devious tactics as he tempts you to take that sneaky cigarette when no one is looking or buy that bottle of wine and tell no one you had it. He tells you to lie to others by saying that you are still on the straight and narrow, but you will know yourself that you have given in to temptation and believe me, you will feel disgusted with yourself. Be on you guard for he is sure to be on the patrol this week, hidden behind one of his many disguises.
Leo -(July 23-Aug 22)
Lucky Leo. This week finds you feeling chuffed with yourself and concentrating on pleasing your partner. Relationships are forefront in your mind this week and I get the feeling a lot of you Leo’s are already going to extreme lengths to arrange some brilliant surprise for that special person in your life because of approaching Valentine’s Day on the 14th of this month. You Leo’s love to be dramatic and extravagant so will be determined to impress your loved one. The emphasis is on the female aspect of the Relationship with The Empress using her influence on loving couples to be exceptionally generous and giving with each other at this time. The emphasis is on pampering and planning something maybe the two of you can enjoy, like joint Spa sessions or dinner out in a very special restaurant. For the Leo’s who have no financial constraints, there will definitely be no stopping them on the surprise and gift side of things. For those without, there are still many wonderful ways to show you partner just how much you love them. Plan a romantic dinner at home or a special evening just for the two of you. There is much for Leo’s to celebrate in the coming week and you should feel exceptionally blessed. There may be news of engagements, weddings or pregnancies. The Empress and the Nine of Cups also reminds couples of the need for romance and the importance of spicing up your sex life if you have been neglecting this side of your Relationship. Dress up, feel sexy and be sexy with your partner. Ignite the passion in your relationship and it will do wonders for both personal and mutual happiness. It will also bring you closer together as a couple.
Virgo – (Aug 23-Sept 23)
Oh there is something very exciting in store for many Virgoans this week, and like Leo above it revolves around Relationships of all kinds but especially romantic ones. For those Virgoans who have been hoping to meet that certain Special Person or their Soul Mate, this week brings a very strong possibility of exactly that happening for you or at the very least you will think it has. Be on the look out for a rather dynamic and exuberant personality that arrives unexpectedly into your life. This may be someone new at work or a person you meet while out socialising. Whoever it is, he or she is bound to sweep you off your feet and set your heart a flutter. Their presence is very strong around you this week Virgo, so be on the look out. It may be a person from a foreign land or someone who you meet while travelling. This could be the start of a whirlwind romance with high excitement and much passion. Your Cup runneth over with joy, and for those more staid and prudish Virgoans, you may surprise yourself and everyone around you by letting your hair down and throwing yourself wholeheartedly into a romance like you have never experienced before. While this may be exactly what the doctor ordered in your often too sterile and predictable life Virgo, do not let your heart run away with itself, and certainly do not lose your basic common sense. With The Knight of Wands featuring between The Lovers and The Ace of Cups, you are prone to acting hastily or moving too fast. Whereas you may feel you have met the love of your life, it is quite possible that it is too good to be true. Making a commitment to another where relationships are concerned is a serious matter and that is reflected in the nature of the Major Arcana Card of The Lovers. This Card will demand a lot more than the first crazy stage of love and that long-term commitments, or declarations of love, should not be rushed into regardless of how hot you feel for each other right now. For you Virgo you may think this is it, and decide to throw all your eggs into one basket too soon. Wait and see how this relationship plays out in the coming weeks and months. The Knight of Wands taking centre stage may not be able to sustain the high energy and interest he or she has in you, when your true Virgoan, more settled nature begins to take over once more. Whichever way this turns out, just enjoy the moment for what it is for it will truly make you feel more alive than you have felt in a long time, if not ever. Do not think too far down the road about long-term commitments and plans for the future of this relationship as the Knight of Wands may not share your enthusiasm.
Libra – (Sept 24-Oct23)
Dear Libra, with the Spring finally arrived, you know in your heart that changes have to be made in your life and this week finds you doing something at last about making it an actual reality. A definite spring cleaning attitude has replaced the old and major change is on the way once you are committed to following through with it. This week starts the beginning of the transformation from the old you into the new you. You have been at a crossroads for some time now Libra, uncertain of which way to turn but one thing is certain, you certainly do not want to continue in the same manner you have been used to in recent years. It is time to start re-inventing yourself and answering the call from within. Your inner voice has been nagging for some time now but you have found ways of pushing it away or ignoring it. This time, the call is too strong and you know that this week demands you start to act, so whatever it is you want to change in you life, it starts here. With Judgement sitting in the middle it is offering you the chance to start over once again, but in a manner that is more true to who you are. The mists of confusion have begun to clear in recent weeks, and over the coming days you will begin to see the path that lies before you, and what you have to do to get on it with crystal clarity. One thing is for certain, it is time to say goodbye to anything that is negative in your life. The Three of Wands on the left side of Judgement shows you turning your back on an old way of being, the old you and excitedly beginning to move forward onto the path that Judgement has revealed to you. Don’t worry about whether you have what it takes to succeed in this new venture for believe it or not, those around you applaud your decisions, are right behind you and willing to offer support. The Magician on the right side of Judgement agrees with all, for he knows that you have the power now to really do anything you set your mind to and that you are more than capable. Librans are careful planners but often doubt their own abilities. Therefore they need the reassurance of others that they have what it takes, and are up to the job. The Magician does more than reassure you, so you have nothing to worry about except worry itself, which you can be quite good at. You have a strong workable plan that will begin to show signs of manifestation from this week onwards once you continue to hold this new-found belief in your self and the determination to let change in the door. It is time to follow what your Destiny intended for you. Be not afraid to take those first steps regardless of how nervous you might feel. Once you begin to make a move or take action this week, the momentum will start to build and there will be no stopping you dear Libra. Good Luck
Scorpio – (Oct 24-Nov 22)
This week finds Scorpions hard at it and probably taking on more than they are used to as seen in The Ten of Wands. Goals set in the past are reaching their climax this week, and even though you do not know it at this stage Scorpio, you are nearly there. However, the final stretch is often the hardest and is a time when all the tedious details that you had not thought of up to now begin to bear down on you, weighing you down and slowing your forward pace and progress. The high mental and physical energy you are renowned for has kept your going but you are beginning to feel the pain now and as you hit the wall. There is nothing more you would like to do this week Scorpio than to dump the whole lot and walk away, but there is something still driving you on. That something is the fact that your labour is one of love as shown in The Ace of Cups. You are working very hard on a project or area of your life that holds great meaning for you. Crossing the finish line will bring great rewards and you know it. It is just that getting there is wearing you down right now. There are things you could actually delegate to others, but something tells me that this is your baby and you want to be the one that is solely responsible for its success. You have been working so hard of late that you haven’t really had time to enjoy yourself and this week is no different. However, what this week does is bring you that much closer to your heart’s desire. You started this journey with high hopes, and because you wanted it so much. Just keep your head down this week and keep beavering away. Once you start working your way through that long list of things to do and sort, your load will begin to lighten, and with The Queen of Pentacles sitting on the left of The Ten of Wands we see a very successful result and a feeling of pride and achievement. Just remember you are nearly there Scorpio, the prize is in sight and waiting for you. Now is not a time for quitting.
Sagittarius – (Nov 23-Dec 21)
Things are certainly looking up for you Sagittarius this week and you may be in for a run of luck as the Fates of Destiny in The Wheel of Fortune have decided to smile down on you. With the Sun taking centre stage you will be feeling full of positivity and experiencing high energy as you shake off any blues associated with the intensity of The Hermit. You are literally exploding with creativity and sparkling with fantastic ideas. The week ahead proves to be truly inspirational for you and there is little you will touch this week that will not work out for you. You have spent the winter months strongly considering your future and taking stock of life under the guidance and influence of The Hermit. Then it was a time for reflection, contemplation and hibernation. However, it is now a time for action and movement. This week will have you feeling busier than you have for quite some time now Sagittarius, for The Wheel of Fortune adds to the high energy and activity of The Sun. It is a week for socialising and getting out and about. Spring is in the air and although the days are still cold and night comes all too soon, the Sun is beginning to climb higher and higher in the sky which especially pleases you. This week will find you looking forward as you begin to come out of the hibernation period of The Hermit on The Left. When we compare these three cards, The Hermit certainly looks out-of-place. He represents the dark time of the year which thankfully Sagittarius you can kiss goodbye. Your time spent with The Hermit has left you wiser and in a better position to make use of the coming weeks and months. With the Spring beginning its reign once more as the Wheel of the Year turns, it means that summer will not be far after it. This week will find you looking forward to the summer and possible thinking about where you will take your vacation this year. It also marks a time when you will feel inspired and at your most creative. Both The Wheel of Fortune and The Hermit would advise you to use the energy of The Sun wisely and maximise its potential when and where you can, for it will not last forever.
Capricorn – (Dec 22-Jan 20)
What is up with you this week Capricorn? Your normal cautious nature surrounding finance and business looks under threat with the appearance of The Knight of Wands taking centre stage. There is an urge to rush and be hasty here, or perhaps he is trying to fire some enthusiasm into you, or even show you new ways of doing things. On one side of The Knight of Wands we have the Seven of Pentacles showing you deliberating over your situation this week and wondering what you should do. You have certainly been working very hard Capricorn, but this is nothing new for you. Hard work is your middle name. The King of Pentacles on the other side of The Knight of Wands is sitting waiting for all the rewards from that which you have been working so hard on. He will not want to be disappointed by a poor return on his investment so you had better think carefully about what you are going to do now. The Knight of Wands may be asking you to take a risk, or has been sent by The King of Pentacles to put pressure on you to complete a task you believe may take more time than you first envisaged. So what do you do now Capricorn as you lean on your hoe deciding whether enough work has been done or not? You have worked in a methodical and thorough manner up until now. Are you to finish in a rush, possibly leaving things undone or half-done, or do you stand your ground and ask for more time? The pressure is coming from the top and The Knight of Wands is but the messenger. However, The Knight of Wands might be able to show you a more efficient manner of bringing your task to conclusion. Not by taking short cuts or unnecessary risks but he might have new techniques or methods that you have not heard of, or have been reluctant to try for yourself. Maybe this week will find you stepping out of your comfort zone and possibly trying new ways of doing things. Advice and demonstration may come from a source you are generally not comfortable working with. It might be time to move with the times Capricorn and drop some of your stubbornness, and fear of modern ways and technology. Your fear of scarcity may have you anxious about spending in areas that need new investment and refreshing right now. Open you mind this week to how others are doing things. You may learn something that will surprise you.
Aquarius – (Jan 21-Feb 19)
This week starts for in a negative manner dear Aquarius. You feel quite stuck in yourself or in your situation. There is a strong chance that you feel you have been made a scapegoat of by someone and The Hanged Man shows you in a difficult position to do anything about it right now. Your hands are literally tied but you must use your powerful mind to solve this problem Aquarius for it is all you are free to do right now. There is a chance you need to clear your name, and with the Nine of Wands on the right hand side, there is an atmosphere of mistrust, bordering on paranoia. You are bound to feel very alone in this situation and do not know who you can trust. This is not the first time you have been in this situation and it may feel like someone has it in for you. There have been ongoing battles that you loathe having to be part of, but if you have been the central target of these battles, it is time to use your wits to sort them out. It is true you are smarting from a recent incident or issue but at present there is little you can do about it, as you have little proof right now. However, the appearance of The Ace of Swords on the right side of the sacrificial lamb, The Hanged Man, brings new evidence to light as the Sword of justice cuts through all confusion and doubt to reveal the heart of the matter, which is the truth. So this week will bring break through for you in any battles that have been going on and on and on. These battles may be of a legal nature or personal ones, but it is for sure that the Ace of Swords will metaphorically cut the ties that bind the Hanged Man, therefore setting you free from the unpleasantness you have had to endure for some time now.
Pisces – (Feb 20-Mar 20)
There is nothing for it dear Pisces but to keep your head down this week and stay busy. Unpleasantness may surround you, and you know how prone you are to letting it affect your emotional balance but I do not believe that you have become involved in it or possibly believe that it has nothing to do with you. Rather it is going on around you. Arguments, especially in the workplace make for a disturbing atmosphere this week as those around you seem hell-bent on being difficult and awkward as seen in the Five of Wands. There is a strong sense of lack of team work this week. You like to work in peace and quiet as noise disturbs your concentration as seen in The Moon. You will just have to find a way to deal with it poor Pisces for the last thing you want to do is get involved. Pressure may be put on you to jump into the ongoing battles but you have no stomach for it. You can’t understand why everyone cannot get on with their work and be content, but sometimes problems in the workplace do need to be aired and vented for issues to be resolved and grievances sorted. It does seem as if you are the only one doing any work at all and possibly you are having to cover other work colleagues’ work too due to your conscientious nature. Your commitment to your work is a credit to you but do not isolate yourself from the real issues that are going on around you. What your work colleagues are battling over may bring better conditions or a pay rise for you too. Show an interest if nothing else. For those Pisceans who have been working tirelessly on a project, this week will find you becoming overly concerned and worried about your competition. You worry in vain dear Pisces for The Eight of Pentacles highlights the effort and commitment you have shown. This reflects in the standard and quality of your work which the competition will find hard to match. You must learn to believe in yourself so much more and acknowledge your talents and gifts. You worry unnecessarily, but that is just you being you.

Continuation from 27th of December – Part II
Following on from yesterdays look into how the various Court Families of The Tarot might be celebrating, or not celebrating The Holidays, today we will take a look at The Swords and Pentacles Families along with the remaining Major Arcana Cards.
The Swords Family Celebrating The Holiday Season
The Swords Family are a little bit nervous and uptight about the Holidays ahead. Memories of this time last year still haunt them. To be honest, The King of Swords has made it clear that he wants nothing to do with it and has told everyone not to expect him to join in any of the celebrations. He thinks it is a lot of nonsense and a waste of time. The Queen of Swords has laid down strict rules and guidelines about how this year will be different. She will stand for none of the upset and stress she had to endure last year. She has made up her mind that she will have a different attitude this Holiday Season and will be very well organised so that she does not become overly stressed. She has ordered her offspring to come home and she expects them to obey. Just for once she would like a calm, happy and sociable Holiday but can she rely on the rest of her family to follow suit?
The Queen of Swords wants everything to be different this year and so insists that instead of giving the Knight and Page the usual book vouchers, new school satchel for The Page and a smart fountain pen for The Knight, she wants their gifts to be more imaginative. The King of Swords reluctantly agrees to her demands. He saw the state she got into last year and certainly does not want a repeat of it. However he hates going gift shopping and thinks it all a waste of good money. Instead he sends his secretary out to do his gift buying for him. The only thing is he doesn’t give her any guidelines except that they have to be sensible or educational. He expects her to know what he means and offers no more suggestions. His nervous secretary will have to use her wits to get suitable presents. She has also been told to be back at her desk in two hours. Stressed and nearly killing herself running across roads without looking, she is heading for the nearest boring store when she gets a phone call from The Queen of Swords. The Queen of Swords is a smart lady and knew exactly what her partner, The King would do. She instructs the nervous secretary to go to the Mall instead of the old reliable book store and gives her a list of shops she might try along with numerous suggestions for gifts. The poor secretary expresses her concern as to what The King will say when she comes back to the office with the very things he told her not to buy. The Queen reassures her and tells her that she will deal with him, but to make sure that all the gifts are wrapped so that he does not know what has been bought. She tells the secretary to charge any excess to her account as The King has given his secretary a strict and tight budget to work from.
The Queen has her own shopping to do, so heads off leaving her secretary in charge of her team. She makes her way to the nearest Sport’s shop and purchases a complete Hill-Walking Kit for The King; hiking boots, poles, weather proof clothes and a special compass which she has personally engraved for him. She then purchases a similar kit for herself. She plans to start the New Year with a new attitude and to spend more time with her partner. She realises they do not enjoy themselves enough and as she knows The King does like to walk and is always pointing out one mountain or another to her and its altitude, she thinks that Hill-Walking would be a past-time both of them would enjoy. Delighted with her purchases she heads back to the office.
The Knight and Page have little problem buying their gifts; a new desk set for their father and engraved fountain pen. For their mother, a Tablet. Their mother complains that they do not ring her often enough. With The Page in Boarding School and The Knight in College she sees little of them. When she opens it, they will set the Tablet up for her so that she can Skype them. She will also get great use out of it. It comes with a smart sophisticated bag so that it is easy for her to carry around and suitable for bringing to the office. They want to make her happy this Holiday, especially after the disaster of the last one.
The Queen of Swords leaves the purchasing of her gift from The King up to him. As they all open their gifts, she is not surprised to discover the same bottle of perfume she gets every year from him. She has long outgrown this scent and each year brings it back unopened to the department store to exchange it for something else. Her partner, The King has a set mind when it comes to things and finds it hard to step outside the box and act spontaneously. She would dearly love to open her gift and find some expensive lingerie or even a voucher for spa treatments but he is not very imaginative and far too serious for such frivolous things. Everyone else seems to be especially pleased with their gifts, if not a tad surprised. The King is slightly confused when he sees the Hill-Walking clothes but when The Queen explains their use he thinks her very sensible. The Queen is thrilled with her tablet and gives both her sons a stiff and uncomfortable hug. None of them are used to being emotional with each other but The Queen seems intent on making changes this year so everyone is awkwardly going along with it. Just for this moment in time The Queen of Swords is happy and believes she has managed to pull it off, that this Holiday will be a good one with no repeat performances of last year. She is looking forward to a lot of amiable chat around the dinner table.
The Swords Family sit down to their formally laid table to eat. The Queen is known to be a perfectionist so the table is immaculate and she has used a special ruler to ensure that each setting is the same distance apart. Starters go well and everyone seems to be relaxing a bit. Just as the main course is being served, The King asks The Knight how College is going? The Queen freezes. She was hoping they could get past the Holidays before she would have to tell him. Only a week ago, she had received a disturbing phone call from his College. They had tried to reach The King first but he had been in a meeting. The Queen was very grateful for such fortunate timing. She told The College that she would be dealing with the matter and not to disturb The King as he was involved in some serious business. The Knight then emailed his mother, The Queen to tell her that he had been expelled for disorderly behaviour and for driving a car across the college lawns while under the influence of alcohol. He had caused damage that would need to be paid for. The Knight had been staying at a friend’s house until he would come home for The Holidays. The Queen was horrified and said she was ashamed of him. The Queen paid for the damages but warned The Knight that he was not to open his mouth to his father until she gave her permission. The King asked The unusually quiet Knight once more how College was going? The Knight eventually replied ‘fine, just fine’. ‘Well that is strange’ said The King ‘because I was speaking to one of your college friend’s father just yesterday and he told me a rather different story’. With that The Knight pushed his seat away from the table and stormed off out the door. The King roared after him, ordering him back but The Knight just kept going. The King then turned on The Queen of Swords ‘did you know about this?’. The Queen could not lie, so nodded her head. The King announced that he suddenly had no appetite and left the table. The Page asked to go to his room. That left The Queen of Swords alone at the table she had spent so much time planning. Silent tears poured down her face as she stood up to begin removing the uneaten food from the table.
The Holidays she had held out so much hope for were turning out just as they did every year. Stress, conflict, arguments and tension. She had come from a background not to un-similar, so she chided herself for being silly enough to think that she could change things so easily. She didn’t hold out much hope for the New Year if this was anything to go by.
Question – You are the King of Sword’s Secretary and it has been left up to you to buy him a gift from all the Staff. What do you do, just give him a voucher or actually pick out something that you think he would like? Where would you go to shop for him and what might you buy? Someone makes an announcement at The Special Family Dinner. Which one is it, what is the Announcement and how is it Received?
Below are some Holiday Season associations depicted through The Swords Tarot. Please feel free to add your own.

The Pentacles Family Celebrating The Holiday Season
The Pentacles Family approach The Holiday Season in good cheer and goodwill, safe and secure in the knowledge that they have plenty to go around. They will not have to worry about where the money will come from to buy gifts and all the extra luxuries that make the Festive Season so special. The Queen of Pentacles will delight in making her home festively spectacular. In fact the ‘House Beautiful’ upmarket home and interior décor magazine have selected her house this year for its Holiday Festive Shoot. The Queen of Pentacle’s house is certainly looking magnificent and she has gone to great lengths to make it so. She has had the builders in to do some work and repairs to their grand old house. She has used greenery from her own garden to do most of the decorating, and she just has a way to make it look so naturally and effortlessly put together. This is one of her favourite times of the year when she can really showcase her talents. She has also covered her beautiful evergreen tree in the front garden with hundreds of little fairy lights that twinkle brightly in the dark sky. The Wreath on her front door is of course handmade by herself with produce from her garden, and also items she has been collecting from the local woods in recent weeks. She manages to combine all this as well as being a busy and successful business woman. Oh did I mention, she has her special recipe puddings and cakes already baked.
The King of Pentacles, although a very busy man will set aside the time to go gift shopping with The Queen. This is a traditional outing each year. Both dress well for the occasion and arrange for a taxi or their driver to bring them to the most fashionable shopping area. Here they will spend much time browsing before making their final selections. Their aim is to buy their Knight and Page gifts that have been well thought out, are of top quality, practical and quite luxurious. The Pentacles do not like to waste money, but this is one time of the year where they will be prepared to push the boat out. They will spend lavishly on gifts for family and friends, and of course the ever important ‘Status Gifts’ for business colleagues and customers. They will take a break from shopping for lunch in one of their favourite restaurants where a table has been reserved for them, before heading back out to complete their gift selection. They will arrive home that evening maybe tired but definitely not stressed. It goes without saying that The Pentacles are very charitable, and especially at this time of the year. They will make the time to ensure they donate to the most vulnerable in society. A conscientious family, The Page and Knight will probably have been encouraged to do some voluntary work, and no doubt have been involved in Fundraising Events in recent weeks.
The Queen of Pentacles will already have arranged The King’s gift. Possibly, a work of art or a rare edition book he has been searching for his collection. The King, will more than likely buy her expensive jewellery and her favourite scent. The Page cannot wait to come home from Boarding School for The Holidays. He has been buying gifts each week out of his pocket-money and is looking forward to everyone opening them. His friend The Page of Swords wishes he could come with him as The Pentacles Holiday sounds so much better than his. The Knight too will be looking forward to seeing the family and will be bringing his fiancée home to spend The Holidays with them. Just like his mother and father, The Knight of Pentacles and his fiancée have spent much time shopping for the perfect gifts. The Pentacle Family will spend a very traditional Holiday together in good cheer. They will enjoy all the family being together and will eat well and often. There will entertain a lot over the Holidays with guests coming and going and some staying over. The Pentacle Family will be seen out walking together with their dogs across parks and through the woods as they will want to ensure they get the correct balance between eating and exercising. They will have a very happy time indeed and everyone will be thrilled with their gifts.
Question – You have been invited to dine with the The Pentacles Family over The Holiday Period. You will need to bring a Gift. What do you think would please them most? Someone makes an announcement at The Special Family Dinner. Which one is it, what is the Announcement and how is it Received?

Featuring The Knights of Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles
The Knight of Wands looked larger than life as his Horse circled and whinnied. The young groom’s boy who had sprung into action once he had heard of his Master’s arrival struggled hard to grab hold of the massive deep chestnut stallion that seemed intent on trampling him out of sheer excitement. The Horse’s eyes looked wild and ready for more action, even after the long and arduous ride from the coast. The Knight of Wands took a tight hold of the reins and circled the Horse a few more times. The Horse snorted and stamped before allowing the young groom to come even remotely close. Laughing out loud, The Knight of Wands leaned down from his massive height and handed his Wand to his waiting Manservant who looked terrified to be so close to such an enormous beast of an animal.
Still holding control of his Horse with his left hand, he released the buckles on his helmet and pulled it free from his head. The Ladies-in-waiting spoke not a word between them as they watched his deep auburn hair fall to just about shoulder length. It was damp from being encased in his head armour, and like his Horse’s coat, was steaming from the exertion of the long ride. He shook his hair free, but long strands of it blew across his face, obscuring his vision. He swiped them away impatiently and looked around at the crowd that had gathered to welcome him home.
Through the upstairs window and still unobserved, The Ladies-in-waiting looked knowingly at each other. Words failed them as they gazed down upon their brave and bold Knight. They watched the angle of his rugged, strong and determined chin as he turned to talk to the gathering crowd. He had a heavy growth of russet red beard, slightly lighter in colour than his hair. In the setting sun, they could not fail to notice the glint of his emerald-green eyes as he beamed his delighted smiles for all to see. His skin looked lightly tanned, his complexion, ruddy from prolonged exposure under hot foreign skies.
The Golden Haired Queen’s Lady thought of his finely honed body beneath his armour. After all the months on crusade and campaign; the rigours of battle, the hours, days and weeks on Horseback, she pondered the level of his fitness and agility. He looked strong and incredibly healthy with no signs of injury or damage. She had worried about all the horrific mutilation that only too often came home from the battle field. She felt her heart quicken at the thought of her Knight. Here was a man at the peak of his manhood, virile and healthy. He was home and she could barely contain her longing ache for him.
The Knight below remained mounted as the little groom’s boy danced around unsure as to what to do next. The Knight seemed to be waiting for something, or somebody, as he constantly glanced towards the drawbridge. The young boy stared admiringly at his master’s tunic. The evening sun made its yellow colour glow like deep gold. The black embroidered Salamanders of his family crest stood out in stark contrast, making the boy feel almost dazed in its presence.
The elder of the Ladies-in-waiting began to get a bit anxious about standing up on the window ledge too long, and feared they would be scolded if caught involved in such unseemly behaviour. The Golden Haired Lady took no notice of her nervous twittering companion and continued to watch her glorious man in the courtyard below. There was a rumble of noise, some scattering and reforming of servants and guards, and The Queen and King of Wands appeared down the Great Hall steps to formally welcome their son home from his escapades at war.
The Queen of Wands stepped towards the mighty Horse as The Knight leaned down to kiss her hand. From the window above, they could see them exchange excited words, and both Queen and Knight looked so happy. The Queen threw back her head in deep laughter at one of her son’s outrageous comments before turning to share his joke with the gathered crowd. She turned back to converse with him. The King then joined them. The Knight glanced over his shoulder towards the drawbridge and then back to his parents once more. Then they all looked back at the drawbridge in anticipation. Whatever was going on?
The Ladies-in-waiting strained their necks as far as they could in attempt to get a view of what they might all be looking at, but the angle was wrong. The Golden Haired Lady felt nervous and unsettled. What where they waiting for? Who were they waiting for?

Hello to all my Tarot Friends,
Just to let you all know that trulyteachmetarot.com is now under construction. It is open to view but has not been formatted. It will take me about a week and then I will do the full switch over. On WordPress.org, one has to select everything as opposed to the ready to go sites in WordPress.com. This means I have a lot of decisions to make which I wished I didn’t have to. Result, time-consuming and tedious.
However, in the meantime, I will continue to work and post on my current site, this one, teachmetarot.wordpress.com until everything is ready. So please keep using this one for the moment until further notice.
Yesterday, I spoke of the horrors of my site crashing and being unable to get back in. It is now sorted but to get it back they had to disable Jetpack and any of you who know what that plugin is and how important it is, will understand that my site cannot exist without it so I will be heading to the WordPress.org Forum to see if I can find answers there.
So to get back to the practice readings we have been working on and developing, This contribution came through on my other site. It is from thyworkingactor who has been very involved in these exercises. She wanted to share her interpretation on the following Reading. Because the new site is not yet ready, I feared some of the viewers would miss out on reading her excellent interpretation, so I have copied and pasted into the body of this post and beneath her interpretation you will see my comments.
This Reading was originally : The Eight of Cups and The Ace of Wands Reversed
We Then added: The Five of Swords and The Moon for further insight.
“So I’ll continue with relationship dealing with the 8 of cups and ace of wands. With the addition of the 5 of swords and going with my previous storyline I think this is why the querent wants to leave. Perhaps the partner is a bully. Since this is an air card the I would say mental abuse, or lots of arguing, blame pointing. Where the moon comes in I believe that they may be putting on a brave face for friends and family and all the drama is going on behind the scenes, but in reality the fire is gone. OR the person could have already started a romance with someone else with whom they are more in love with. The moon I think can tie in with the 8 of cups. Interestingly enough the moon appears in that card as well. There is a lot hidden, unknown. So I believe that there is a third person whom the querent is involved with. But the current problems presented by the 5 of swords just adds fuel to the flame of what this person will want to leave and be with someone else.”
“If you ever think of giving up acting then there is always the tarot for you. Only joking of course! I love the way you have linked these Cards. Your theory about the Moon and things going on beneath the surface is very Moonish indeed. Secrets, mystery, lies, deep undercurrents and hidden emotions, as well as emotional turbulence. Not everything is as it seems to the casual observer when the Moon is involved. One would need to dig beneath the surface to reveal all that is hidden. Yes, the Figure in The Eight of Cups may have met someone else but but will it work? Will he or she be able to leave their partner or will they be too riddled with underlying fear and worry to do anything about it. The Moon also suggests an unnerving and fearful road that one must travel if they wish to progress and enter the light of The Sun. The Figure in The Eight of Cups will need to be very brave to make that journey. If their partner is a bully, will they be able to stand up to him or her? With the Moon I would be worried about irrational fears and blowing things up out of all proportion. However, if there is a bully involved, this would have been a systematic and gradual breaking down of their partner. The bully would have conditioned their partner to become nervy and anxious about everything.
Then again, if there is a third person involved, and the figure involved in the Eight of Cups is engaging in clandestine meetings and secrecy, they are taking a big chance. What would happen if the bully found out?
I am going to copy and paste this into a post on my wordpress.com site as I am experiencing problems with this site while it is under construction. I don’t want anyone to miss out on your interpretation.
Keep up the good work,”
