After reading the above interpretation of Cora’s Celtic Cross Career Spread you may be somewhat confused as to how and where I got my story. Pulling the cards together in a manner which makes sense very much comes down to a combination of old-fashioned deduction, investigative work and that buzz word, intuition. It goes without saying that unless you read from a completely intuitive base, you should have some understanding of the Meanings of the Cards, their Numerical Status and Elemental Influence. These are the tools of the trade after all……..(Read the Full Guide that will show you How I interpreted this Reading)

Messages for The World – 2015

A Big Welcome to 2015

The Fool (0) UprightThe World UprightWheel of Fortune Upright

Happy New Year,  Bliain Nua Faoi Mhaise Duit,  to all my Tarot Friends around the World,

Bonne année et bonne santé, Feliz año nuevo, Felice Anno Nuovo,  Ein glückliches neues Jahr, Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu, Sehe Bokmanee Bateuseyo, Godt NytÅr, Gelukkig nieuwjaar, Boldog uj evet, Szczesliwego Nowego Roku, Gott Nytt År, Chuc mung nam moi, Sawatdee Pi Mai, Manigong Bagong Taon, Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu, Selamat Tahun Baru, Eutychismenos o kainourgios chronos, Bonan Novjaron, Stastny Novy Rok, (I am sorry if I did not include your language)

I would like to extend my thanks to all of you who have visited, followed, commented and contributed to  Truly Teach Me Tarot throughout 2014.  Your ongoing support and engagement is very much appreciated and has been a major incentive in helping the site develop and grow.

2015 will be a busy year with goals set to complete further sections of the Course and the re-working of the remaining Court Cards, The Queens and Kings, and The Major Arcana from The Hierophant onwards. Those long talked about Video Tutorials will eventually be making an appearance and Truly Teach Me Tarot will make the transition from WordPress.com to WordPress.org.  College will continue until June, with assignments and exams to complete. It will all be a bit of a juggling act and I can visualise The Two of Pentacles featuring heavily in my life in the coming months. I certainly will need Strength and The Chariot backing me up with The Emperor keeping me organised and disciplined. Somehow or other, I will have to find time for The Empress so maybe Temperance can help me out there by ensuring a sense of balance is maintained.

****************************

On a Global level, there have been many ups and downs over the last 12 months. The world and humanity have been sent some very difficult challenges to overcome. None of us can be immune to the horrific suffering so many experienced in 2014 and continue to do so.  Political struggles, war, acts of horrendous violence, repression, oppression, hatred, starvation, poverty, disease, tragedies and disasters.  We have witnessed more than enough, and at times have felt emotionally overwhelmed by it all. Some of us have experienced psychological damage as we deal with the depression that follows such trauma.

As we prepare to move into 2015 we must all pause and ask questions of ourselves. Do we want a repeat of, or an even worse version of 2014? Are we just crossing our fingers, keeping our heads down and hoping for the best, or praying that The Tower won’t stop at our door as it thunders along? The world yet again has reached the brink of insanity and we cannot simply bury our heads in the sand and insist that it has nothing to do with us. History has brought us terrible lessons on many, many occasions, but have we learned from any of them? It appears we fall into the same traps over and over again, but the terrible thing is we now walk into them voluntarily and with our eyes wide open.

We all know that violent war solves nothing except breeds hatred and revenge, yet as humans we tend to seek it out over and over again as a way of settling a situation. I read a novel recently called The Death Instinct by Jed Rubenfeld. Freud features as a character in this book along with his theory called The Death Instinct which the book is named after (a very good book by the way). Freud believed that as humans we naturally crave life but only on an equal level with craving death. Without going into the in-depth analysis provided in the book (check it out on Wikipedia here) he had the belief that humanity will never be happy unless we are killing ourelves or each other, for we seek death just as much as we seek life. Therefore, there will never be a war to end all wars for we are incapable of sustaining prolonged peace. I do hope that Freud is proved wrong in this instance for it speaks of a bleak future where the art of war is becoming bloodier, more sinister and capable of horrific consequences.

As we move into a more technically advanced age, war has become very sophisticated. It has far-reaching tentacles and can no longer be referred to as something that is happening ‘over there’ or ‘somewhere else’. War, regardless of where it is being fought affects us all. We may not understand the issues being battled over, or care less what it is all about, we may believe we have enough of our own problems to have to worry about others. For those who are informed they may still feel baffled about the belief systems involved and wonder why they can not all get together and sort it out.  However many who perpetrate war may want you to know about their war whether you are interested or not. They may want to make a statement, gain attention, notoriety, infamy, or lay blame any where they can, even if it is far removed from their own battlefield.

We no longer go to war. Instead war is taken to us; into our homes, onto our streets, into our shopping malls, restaurants and schools where the only battle fields we are used to involve sport and enjoyment. We shudder in disbelief and ask why? How could humans do this to each other? How could you hurt a little child? Why do they want to commit such massacres? They do it because they can and for some awful reason, they both enjoy it and justify it. And of course there is also the political involvement from all over the world, the conspiracy theories and rumours of power, oil, and wealth which funds and drives these wars, plunging the world into misery and devastation. It is said that wars never happen by accident. On the contrary, they are well planned and orchestrated. And the planners? The most powerful people in the world, and more than likely never heard of by us mere mortals. We are not talking about presidents of countries here but those on a much higher level, those who pull all the strings, the strategists, yet never get exposed to any danger themselves. These are the theories.

And the results of war? Death, loss, devastation, displacement, trauma, fear, hatred, revenge, disease, poverty, starvation, recession. If the money that was wasted on war, billions and billions worldwide, was injected into more important and relevant areas to improve our human existence, there would be no poverty or starvation. There would be access to proper health care and education for all. There would be less crime because there would be less deprivation. There would be no homelessness, we wouldn’t have to rely on charity for funding as there would be sufficient money in the state coffers to cover all. The money that had previously being wasted on war would go a long way in helping to make a better life for us all.

************************************

But we cannot fall to our knees and decide that it is all over, that we have lost or failed. It is time for all of us to pick ourselves up and focus on the positive by becoming more optimistic about the future. We all need to start making a difference. With that thought in mind I have asked the Universe to send the World, and those who reside upon it, a Special Message for 2015. How do we move forward? How can we find peace? Where is The Love and Compassion? How do we put right all the wrongs? How do we heal? What can I do? Because there are 12 months in the year, I have pulled 12 Cards, but not to represent any particular month.

Let us take a look at these 12 Cards now and take a brief message from each.

Justice UprightThe Lovers UprightKnight of Cups Upright

Justice – We are not exactly talking about the normal Legal System here where courts and judges decide who is guilty and who is innocent, and were sentences or punishments are issued. Justice represents the Spiritual Court of Law where only the truth is expected of us. There are no lawyers or prosecutors, and the only judge present sits within each one of us. We are both our own Judge and Jury and therefore lying or trying to escape the consequences of our actions is futile for we know the truth of us regardless of how we try to gloss it up. In the human Legal System we can try to fool others but we will always know the truth of what we did, felt or said. There is no escape in Justice who holds the double-edged Sword in one hand and a Balanced Scale in the other. Justice reminds us that there are always two sides to each story and therefore we must own up to our own responsibility instead of trying to blame others. The Scales of Justice demand balance. Any excess in one scale will off-balance the other. It is a natural law. Taking the action of placing a weight in one side of the scales will automatically result in a consequence in the other. A Reading Request Plucked from my Spam Folder

Greetings to all my Tarot Friends around the World,

Truly Teach Me Tarot Course

Thank you to those who contributed their interpretations for The Six of Cups Reversed and The Tower. I  have now posted these contributions. They  can be viewed in the Comments Section by scrolling down to the end of the Post found at this Link. Your Comments should have been posted sooner but I have been experiencing awful internet problems throughout the last week. Better late than never they say.

Just to let you all know that I am busy re-working The Knight of Pentacles and hope to have him ready for viewing in the next couple of weeks. There will also be a New Year Reading for you to try out.

My personal news is that I have gone back to college.  I am now in Dublin four days a week so have a tight schedule and heavy workload. However, my college course is in Digital Technology, and all going well, it will help me develop my new site in a much more efficient manner going forward into 2015. Exhausting, but all in a good cause!

Now back to the Reading mentioned in my Post Title.  I found this in my Spam Folder, sent from a Site Visitor who asked for some insight into the Cards she had drawn; The Devil, The Tower, The High Priestess, The World, The Hierophant, The Wheel of Fortune and Strength....Wow!  I don’t think this is Spam so I have decided to take a look at it. I will refrain from passing on the identity of this visitor as she may have wanted to deal with this privately.

There is no Question to go on. Neither is there any further information e.g.  Was all the Deck used or just the Major Arcana? Had any of the Cards being Reversed before drawing these seven? Which Spread did she use, or did she just draw a specific number? Are the Cards for her, or another?

Because there are Seven Cards, I am going to take the liberty of laying them out in The Horse Shoe Spread. I am also going to assume she used only the Major Arcana as it would be unusual to get all Seven Cards as Majors. Judging by the Cards she drew, I will presume she has quite strong reasons for seeking insight from the Tarot. This was not a casual approach.

Like the last time, I will give my impressions and theories but would also appreciate some contributions from anyone who would like to offer theirs. Remember there are so many ways to interpret each Card, and therefore Spread, we may all get varying interpretations. However, when they are blended together this Reading could be quite dynamic. So whoever is willing, let us now have a go.

As I gaze upon these Cards I sense a battle or fierce struggle to overcome some pretty strong issues or challenges. I believe that whoever these Cards represent is desperate to make a bid for freedom or seeks to extricate themselves from a situation or person that has been exerting considerable control in their life. Judging by The Devil and Tower Card, the influence of this control has had a negative impact. Read the rest of this entry

New Practice Reading – Careers

Career Practice Reading

Truly Teach Me Tarot Course

(Using Court Cards – Based on an Actual Reading)

Step by Step Analysis

This Career Practice Reading is a Guided Reading to assist you in understanding how a Mini Storyline emerges from each Card in a Spread. All these Mini Stories are then pulled together to form the Main Story which is the ultimate interpretation. You will also see that each Mini Story carries its own weight and importance. It demonstrates the fact that there is never just one story going on in anyone’s life at any given time. All the individual Mini Stories going on at the one time do have a cumulative effect however. Some of the Mini Stories are inter-related with other Mini Stories, while others appear to be quite separate. All together, they show the Whole Story; the characters on stage, behind the scenes, and audience perception.  This Guided Reading aims to demonstrate how by linking and making cross connections between these Mini Stories/Cards in a Reading, one can arrive at an in-depth and thorough interpretation of the Querant’s issue or situation.

This Reading is based on an actual Reading from a few years ago. I have made a few adjustments to allow for greater variety in interpretation from a Student’s perspective. Essentially I have given you more to work with in order to compensate for the absence of communication with the Querant.

*****************************

When you are ready, lay the Cards Out In The Spread As Detailed Below. Please attempt this Reading on your own before reading my interpretation. Then slowly follow mine and see how close our interpretations are. Again, there would be something mighty unusual going on if your Reading was exactly the same as mine. No two Readers are the same, so neither will their Readings be either. There should be some similarities however. Remember that your Reading may be different, but that does not mean it is wrong. You may pick up on another aspect of the Querant’s issue that I do not. So when you are ready slowly proceed.

*******************************

The Querant

A young male in his mid-twenties.   He is looking for information, guidance and direction concerning a specific area of his life. This area is Career related. In this instance, we have little to go on except that he wants some insight on his career as he has given me no other details. He doesn’t want to ask a specific question about his Career so this Reading could result in a very Generic Career Reading. We will have to be quite alert to the imagery and make connections and links wherever we can. We will also have to use our intuition with this one.

Me – I ask him to shuffle the Cards concentrating on the Career area of his life; what he wants to do, where he sees his Career going in the future and any concerns he may have. I ask him to connect with his Higher Self, Subconscious and the Universe for guidance and direction. I suggest he Reverses a few Cards as he Shuffles, but watch to make sure he does not Reverse too many. I suggest he asks “what is it that I need to know right now in relation to my Career and the decisions I have to make around it?”

He shuffles the Cards and Reverses some. He puts the Deck back on the table. I pull the Base Card and set it aside on the table. I then draw the Cards for the Spread from the top. ………………………Continue Readings by Clicking Here

Reflecting on Valentine’s Day Relationship Spread

Hi All,

I hope you are having a nice weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead. Here is a follow-up to the Sample Valentine’s Day Relationship Spread I posted last Friday. This is an actual Reading I did a few years ago for a client who was happy to give her permission for me to use it when teaching. Obviously names have been changed and no personal details given to protect the identity of my client. I have just given a brief synopsis of the Reading so that you may see where I got the information from and how I put it together to tell a story. I hope you find it of help.

Background –

Q.  I used to go out with Johnny years ago when we were in High School, but he then went to college overseas. We did write for some time but it eventually ceased. To be honest I hadn’t thought about him in ages but last week I bumped into him on the street. He looks great and we hugged and everything. He asked me to join him for a drink this week. Since I met him I just can’t stop thinking about him and am panicking about what I should wear when I see him next. I wonder how he feels about me after all this time?

The Relationship From Querant’s Point of View

Significator – Page of Cups Upright

Querant has chosen The Page of Cups because she sees her self as young, loving and sensitive. She also says she can get quite emotional at times and does not like to hurt people’s feeling. The Page of Cups is very appropriate.

6 of Cups Upright    3 of Wands Rx    6 of Wands Upright   Ace of Cups   2 of Cups

1                    2                3                 3                  5

Card 1 – The Origins of The Relationship (How it All Started) – When they were young and in school together. They grew up in the same village. She has fond memories of him from the past.

Card 2 – Where Relationship is Coming From (Immediate Past) – Johnny has just returned home from being in college overseas.  She says he only has a bit of his old accent left which is quite cute.

Card 3 – Where The Relationship is at Present – She sees him as being something special and different. He has a very confident air about him which she is drawn to. He was always very popular and had loads of friends. She finds him very exciting right now.

Card 4 – Where The Relationship is heading in the Near Future – She is entertaining hopes of something blossoming out of their meeting for a drink. Why would he ask her out if he wasn’t interested in her? She herself is feeling all fluttery inside just thinking about him. She is hoping for the start of a lovely romance.

Card 5 – How The Relationship Ultimately Evolves – She already sees them as a couple and possibly with a future ahead of them. She is very keen and she thinks Johnny might be Mr Right. She believes there is a mutual attraction.

All in all The Querant sees a fairytale ending. Her Cards are very straight forward. Very much wishful thinking Cards.

The Relationship From Potential Partner’s Point of View

Significator Querant Chose for  Partner –  Knight of Cups Upright

She chose The Knight of Cups for Johnny to complement her Page of Cups. She see him as a Knight in Shining Armour, very handsome and very romantic.

3 of Pentacles Upright    8 of Wands Upright   3 of Cups Upright   2 of Wands Upright   Knight of Wands Upright

1                2                  3                    4                5

7 of Cups   Queen of Pentacles Upright

Extra Cards Position 4 Seven of Cups and Position 5 Queen of Pentacles

Card 1 – The Origins of The Relationship (How it All Started) – The connection from his side is group related, from school days. Simple as that.

Card 2 – Where Relationship is Coming From (Immediate Past) – He has just flown home from overseas and is treating this time as a holiday. He is looking for fun and lots of activity. He may also be looking for a little Holiday romance. He is in good form, full of energy, and wants to make the most of his holiday.

Card 3 – Where The Relationship is at Present – Friends. An old friend and exactly as he asked, meeting Querant for a drink. There may be others invited too and not the cosy drink the Querant is expecting. He may also plan to ask other women out on their own for a drink. She is not the only one interested in him. He sees it as a get together to catch up with friends and do some socialising.

Card 4 – Where The Relationship is heading in the Near Future – He is in two minds about what he wants to do but I do not think his plans involve him staying at home or moving back home. I think he finds it all too small and in the past now. His life is different from hers and he has seen more of the world than she has. As much as he is enjoying his holiday at home visiting family and friends, I believe he would find it boring otherwise. The Seven of Cups again suggests he has not made up his mind about anything. He has several options open to him and he is examining all. He also may have his pick of several romantic partners to spend time with on his holidays. I don’t think he would be happy if he stayed. I believe he will fly out as soon as his holiday is over. I do not think his plans include the Querant.

Card 5 – How The Relationship Ultimately Evolves  – The Knight of Wands. This connects to The Two of Wands. Not one to commit to a long-term relationship too easily. He is restless and sees the World as his Oyster and a place that he just has to explore. He is certainly not going to settle down too soon or stay in one place for very long. There is a good chance he plans to travel. Because he is The Knight of Wands he may very well have a holiday fling with her without realising that he would be setting the Querant up for heartbreak. If she just wanted a good time then that would be fine and he would be great fun to have around. However, with The Queen of Pentacles appearing as the extra card I have mixed feelings about her presence. The Querant chose The Page of Cups as her Significator, but does Johnny see her as much older than him in her ways? Too settled and not very adventurous? Does he think her too practical and sensible which would not mix well with his impulsive and sometimes outlandish behaviour? Does he see her as someone who would want to try to change him? Then again, it may be the influence of his own mother coming in. The Queen of Pentacles would be very ambitious for her son and may have big plans for him. The Querant may not fit in with her plans or be the type of woman she wants for her son. There may be an issue there.

All in all, if the Querant could try to still her beating heart for long enough to just casually meet him for a drink then she may enjoy herself, but if she starts batting her eyelids at him and hanging onto his arm, she may be setting herself up for massive disappointment. I tell her to just assume that there will be a group gathered for drinks, to act friendly and try not to read too much into this invitation. See how it goes.

It’s Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day to All Around The World

jane austen 4

Tarot of Jane Austen  Jane Austen The Novelist

The Picture above shows Cards from The Jane Austen Tarot Deck. I thought their Romantic Imagery would be very suitable and fitting for Valentine’s Day. The Tarot of Jane Austen by Diane Wilkes and Lola Alraghi, and published by Lo Scarabeo is inspired by the famous author of the ClassicsPride and Prejudice’, ‘Emma’ and ‘Sense and Sensibility.

jane austen tarot strength jane austen tarot 3 cups jane austen 2 of pentacles Jane Austen Tarot 8 wands Jane Austen judgement

This is a beautiful Deck of Cards and lovely to use for Love and Romance Readings. Whereas they do stick quite faithfully to the Rider-Waite-Smith approach, some of the Imagery in relation to Card Number and Suit may be confusing for the beginner.  It is a matter of just getting used to them and they are a must for any Jane Austen Fan. Be warned, they may appear all pink and fluffy in the main, but some of the Cards, especially the Swords, known as Plumes/Quills in this Deck, can be quite Dark, especially The Four of Plumes, Five of Coins, Death and The Moon. The Suits are called Candlesticks (Wands), Teacups (Cups), Quills (Swords) and Coins (Pentacles). They can be purchased in many places but here is a link to Amazon.

The Relationship Spread

For this Reading to be of any benefit, it is essential that The Querant or the One doing the Enquiring be as Open and Accepting to whatever the Cards Reveal. Very often when starting out in a Relationship, or when a certain Stage has been reached, there may be some concern or confusion as to whether your Partner has the same outlook for the Relationship as you do. Do they envisage entering into a long-term commitment with you or have they other plans, plans that possibly do not include you?

This Reading is also useful for when you are in two minds about entering a Relationship with a certain other, or when there is more than one Partner to choose from. You must remember that nothing is ever 100% accurate in Tarot Reading and is also Subject to Interpretation. If you have a certain mind-set towards your Relationship, or decide to indulge in wishful thinking or idealising about your Relationship, or the Potential of a New One, then you may very well get Cards that will fall nicely in line with your way of thinking. They may be nice and romantic, fulfilling your exact desires, but they may not be based on reality. Therefore try your best to let go of any preconceptions or notions and throw it out to the Universe.

This Reading can reveal confusion in a Relationship between Partners or a lack of proper Communication. Therefore it may highlight areas that need to be brought out into the open. If your Reading shows that you see Wedding Bells in your Future and your Partner’s reveals a sense of entrapment or restlessness, then it would be wise to sit down and discuss honestly what both of you are expecting out of the Relationship. Sometimes just talking the issues over can smooth out any areas where there is doubt or concern. If you think your Partner is showing interest in an other, and their Cards reveal total devotion and commitment to you, then you may just be paranoid and certainly this will not have a beneficial effect on the time you spend with each other.

Do not get overly concerned with what comes up in the Reading as you are bound to be anxious when asking such questions about your Partner and your Relationship. I had a client very recently who had one of those enviable problems. She had three guys interested in her and she wanted to see which out of the three might be the most suitable to go for. She was looking for a Steady, Stable Relationship, and not just a fling or short-lived affair, so she didn’t want to waste her time on a guy who would not be around for long. We did three separate Readings for each Guy after picking a Significator for Each. We took note of the Significator and then put the Cards back in The Deck. For Each Reading we Cleared the Deck of The Previous Reading Energy and also made sure that any Reversed Cards had been Uprighted. We then Shuffled and Reversed a  Few while asking the following Question.

First Shuffle and Selection of Cards is for Yourself/Querant – The Potential of a Loving Relationship From Querant’s Point of View. Draw Five Cards and Place them Face Down in Front of You.

Cleanse and Upright The Cards Once More before Shuffling (Remember to Reverse a Few) while asking the same Question but now – The Potential of a Loving Relationship from Your Partner’s Point of View. Make sure to name the Person in full for extra clarity as Partner could also refer to a business partner. Also be very clear in your intention that the Relationship is one of Love and Romance. Draw Five Cards and Place them Face Down in Front of You.

If you do not wish to exclude any Cards from the Second Set of Five, then you can use Two Decks, one for The Querant and one For the Partner.

When you are ready turn over the First Five Cards and Read these before turning over the Second Line of Five Cards. If you turn them all over at the same time, it will be very hard to stay focussed. When both Lines have been analysed and compared, it should hopefully map out the Relationship from both points of view. You may discover that you are lovingly singing from the  Same Hymn Sheet, are Completely Out of Tune or just have to do a little Practice before you can both sing in Harmony.  Extra Cards can be drawn for clarification.

The Personal Year Plan

The Personal Year Plan

The Fool (0) Upright

Whatever it is that we personally want to achieve in any given year, it is a good idea to write down our aspirations in a similar manner one would write a Business Plan with Short Term, Medium Term and Long Term Goals. What are our objectives for the coming months? Where do we want to see ourselves by the end of the year? Where do we want to be? Who do we want to be more like? How do we want to look? We should also think long and hard about our Strengths and Weaknesses in relation to achieving our set Goals. Where do we normally excel and where do we typically fall flat on our face? What comes easy to us and what do we find difficult? What natural resources, talents or skills can we put to better use? What Personality Aspects do we need to channel in order to achieve our Goals? We should also write a Mission Statement for the year ahead after reviewing all our information.

Like any Business Plan, our Personal Year Plan should be reviewed regularly and adjusted, modified or amended accordingly. We do have a tendency to think we can achieve more than we actually can. Things generally take longer than we allow for. Also, life can sometimes get in the way and throw curve balls at us that result in knocking us off our disciplined path and disturbing our equilibrium. After such times it can be difficult to settle back down and get back on track again. We shouldn’t beat ourselves up when this happen as we cannot make allowances for everything. I am sure you are familiar with the old saying ‘and so go the best laid plans’. We can only do our best, but should life get in the way throughout the year, just like when we have weak a moment, break our diet and binge eat, it does not mean that it is all over. It is important to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and continue from where we left off. We can still achieve some of our Goals by the end of the year. The rest can be carried forward into next year. The thing is to try our best.

Below is a way of using The Tarot to determine what Goals we need to set at the beginning of any New Year. This is done by looking at each of the Four Suits which represent four areas or approaches to life.   choosing Cards from each of these Suits we can build our Personal Year Plan. We must also look at the Court Cards in each Suit as they will represent the four aspects of our personality, which with a bit of work and a dose of courage can be adopted or channelled to achieve our aims. We may need to style ourselves on a Personality Type that is unfamiliar or uncomfortable to to us. Basing this on just The Four Queens alone, it may be a case of having to step into The Queen of Wands shoes to become more assertive or independent, or perhaps The Queen of Cups to encourage us to be softer and more loving, or to stimulate our imagination and artistic abilities. We may choose The Queen of Swords to help us with mental discipline or communication, even speaking up for ourselves. We may need to call on  The Queen of Pentacles to make us more domesticated, nurturing, healthy, better at managing our finances or more business-like.

We must then look to The Major Arcana for the powerful forces which will act as our Key Motivators to achieving our Goals. These will represent our Ultimate Objectives for the year ahead. These Cards can be viewed on a regular basis to determine how we are progressing. Do we feel closer or more connected to them as the months go on or do they seem as elusive as ever? Our aim must be to eventually meld into our chosen Major Arcana so that we are in a position to say ‘yes, this is me, this is I’. You need to feel suffused with the powerful energy of these Cards. Let these Ultimate Objective Cards be your Guiding Light throughout the Year.

Past life Tarot Reading Part II-The Story Continues

Welcome Back,

10

I have just finished completing my Past Life Tarot Reading Part II and is now ready for viewing.  The story is quite interesting and very dramatic, but you will probably notice, as I did, that the story line has a similar theme or feel to the Fictional Drama I am writing about The Knight of Wands at present. Part Two of that will be ready to rock and roll in the next few days.  Now there could be many reasons for this but I have also explained in Part II of The Reading that I did set the intention for The Past Life Reading to be especially useful from a Teaching Point of view. Therefore, the Reading was more about my students rather than a very personal one. As I have mentioned in Part II, it would be lovely to think that I had been some kind of warrior or leader in a Past Life but that I would not put too much importance on This Reading being factual or even from a Past Life.  If you have read any of my articles on Past Life Therapy you will know that the Past Life being recalled may be coming from several sources, especially the subconscious.

The Story may not be actually true, I may not have had a Past Life as such but what the subconscious often does is confabulate a story, a bit like it does when one is dreaming, complete with characters, events, dramas and real emotion. It does this not to fool you or deceive you, but purely to get a message of some sort across to you. That is why throughout the Readings I have asked you to dwell on the Cards drawn and make notes as to what relevance they have in your life.

Whether you believe in Past Lives or not, this is very good exercise and much can be gleaned about your personality and how your life is proceeding, both on a positive and negative level. There will be a message in the story-line which you will certainly resonate with and give  much to think about.  This type of Reading is excellent for improving and developing your story-telling skills and helps you look at the Card Meanings from a whole new prospective.  Your Reading abilities will certainly benefit, and your understanding of each Card deepen. You will also find you are beginning to make connections and links between Cards more rapidly with barely having to think about it.

Remember –

*Do not take the information in these Past Life Readings too seriously, or dramatically alter your current life based on the information given unless it is truly for your highest good.  This advice applies to all Card Readings and not just Past Life ones. Instead, dwell or meditate on the information and see if there are any common threads, themes or personalities in your Current Life and make some comparisons. Tarot is a wonderful self-guidance and self-development tool. It is like having your own on-site psychologist who is ready and waiting to tell you why things are happening in your life, and the role you play in them. You might be surprised what you learn about yourself in the process.

*Remember, Past Life Tarot Readings should be treated as an interesting line of investigation only, and not taken for true facts or actual events.  Often the Subconscious throws us a fictional story-line. It may not be factual, but will very likely mirror some actual issues and challenges that one is facing, or has faced in the past.  It should be used on a constructive basis for moving forward in life and not for dwelling or living in the past.

Past Life Tarot Reading Part II

MILITARY

In Part II of The Past Life Reading We will have a look at the reasons behind any Personality Change at the End of the Particular Past Life you have been exploring in Part I along with the following:

  • What Blocked Me From Achieving My Soul Purpose?
  • What Where The Events that Blocked me From Achieving My Soul Purpose or/and any Personality Changes at the End of My life? Who or Which Personality Aspect was involved in each Event? What Was The Driving Force Behind Each Event?
  • What Did I Learn from that Particular Life Time that is beneficial to my Current?
  • What Aspects/Lessons of that Past Life am I working on in This Lifetime?
  • If I had That Life Time to Live again what would I do differently? Do I have any Regrets?
  • What is my Soul Purpose in This Life Time?  How well am I advancing with my Soul Purpose in This Life Time?
  • What are my Blocks to Achieving my Soul Purpose? What are my Biggest Challenges?
  • Who is here to challenge me?
  • Who in This Life Time is here to Help Me Succeed?

Coming SoonPart Two of The Knight of Wands Drama. I have decided to incorporate all The Knights into this story, so each one will be introduced into the Drama as the remaining Knight of Cups, Knight of Swords and Knight of Pentacles have been updated and re-worked.

In the next week, I shall be turning my attention to The Knight of Cups and hopefully bring him to life. He must now take his turn under the spotlight so that we may all get to know this gentle, gallant and charming (too charming at times!) young man. He is a very different chappie to The Dynamic Knight of Wands but never forget that no matter how loving and caring he may come across, he is under the influence of Fire as well as his own Element Water. Sometime the Fire in him can overshadow his Watery side so he does have his own ‘wild, bad boy’ aspect to him, even if it is in a Cups kind of way. I will explain more when we get to him.

In the meantime, I do hope you enjoy reading the Past Life Tarot Reading Part II

Blessings,

Vivien (your tarot teacher)

Getting Relationship Reading Practice with The Knight of Wands

Using The Knight of Wands in Relationship  Readings

Knight of Wands Upright   Knight of Wands Reversed

When learning to Read The Tarot, students can find The Court Cards the hardest to interpret when Reading as they can imply so much as well as representing various personalities or the Querant them self.  Below I have drawn up some Fictional Readings for Relationships where The Knight of Wands makes an appearance. These Readings are just guidelines on how to work a Court Card into a Reading.  In time you will find your own way and that way may be very different to mine. It is whatever works for you that counts.

Below is the First Practice Reading. There are another Three Knight of Wands Relationship Readings available by Clicking Here

Relationship Reading 1 – The Knight of Wands in Surrounding Energies Position

2 of Cups Upright                                       The Heirophant Upright

1 – Past/Recent & Distant             7 – The Probable Outcome

4 of Wands                                         6 of Cups Upright

2 – The Present                                   6 – Hopes and Fears

The Sun Upright                                          Knight of Wands Upright

3 – The Near Future              5 – Surrounding Energies/Atmosphere

4 of Swords Upright

4 – Answer/Solution/Hard Facts/Advice/Querant

This Reading was drawn with me setting the intention that I wanted a Relationship Reading for Practice Purpose using The Knight of Wands Upright in The Surrounding Energies Position. This is all for practice and not based on an actual Reading.

Well I was pretty happy with the Cards that came out as they are quite appropriated for a Relationship Reading and therefore make my job much easier when interpreting, but nothing is ever as it seems at first glance. Always remember that when doing a , look, look again and then look again.  Also remember that any one Card, or even all of them, may be giving you more than one message. You must learn to become a sleuth when Reading The Tarot.

Well my first impression is that here we have the Happy Couple in Position 1 Representing the Past. This I take as a couple who have been dating for some time as it is in the Past Position. Immediately I take in Four of Wands in The Present Position 2The Sun in Near Future Position 3 and The Hierophant in Outcome Position 7. These Cards are shouting WEDDING at me. I also think it is quite imminent as the Four of Wands in the Present Position 2 is letting me know that everyone is ready and waiting for the celebrations to begin. The Sun in the Near Future Position 3 tells me a few things. It tells me of the mood surrounding this big event and how much everyone is looking forward to this great day. I think also it might be a Summer Wedding and the future indeed looks very promising. I also believe that the desire to have children, or a child already on the way may also be part of the occasion. However, it may also be the driving force behind the wedding if there is a baby on the way. Everything seems in order, and if we look up diagonally, there is the Hierophant waiting to officiate at the Ceremony. So the Wedding Venue is ready, the guests lined up, everyone in high jinks and the Spiritual or Religious side of it taken care of too. Across from the Four of Wands in the Hopes and Fear Position 6 we have The Six of Cups. This gives me a lovely warm feeling of friends and family all returning home to be a part of the Happy Couple’s Big Day. I do also think that the Wedding is taking place where they grew up, or at least one of them did. There is a sense of nostalgia here, but also this couple may be childhood sweethearts.

With The Hierophant so close to The Six of Cups, I can’t help but feel that this couple are falling into line with what has gone before them. There is a sense of tradition and being very conventional with these two cards. I would say that this will be a big Wedding in the Town, and everyone who is anyone will be present. The couple is well-known, and whether she is pregnant or not, are tying the knot just like all their friends are doing or have already done. There is a strong sense of expected security and stability with this union, but there is also a feeling of small-mindedness, especially with The Hierophant so close to The Six of Cups. I feel almost claustrophobic about the whole thing. However, it all looks like it is going according to plan and I can even visualise the bride putting on her wedding dress, and everyone beginning to make their way to the Ceremony while the Wedding Venue Staff are putting the last finishing touches to the Banquet Room. All is set for a good day.

Now we bring in The Knight of Wands in the Surrounding Energy Position 5,  and we have several options when it comes to interpreting Him. We can use one, or all of these as he may be speaking to us on several levels. However, we must also be acutely aware of the shadow of The Four of Swords sitting beside him in Position 4 – Answer/Advice/Solutions/Hard Facts  when interpreting this Reading. Why has The Four of Swords, a potential stressful Card appeared in this otherwise bright, sunny, happy and dazzling Reading. I think The Knight of Wands will give us insight. This is why, you must always look to the Surrounding Cards to give support and clarity to your theories, and to help identify the reasons behind the presence of not just Court Cards, but every other Card in the Reading too.

The Knight of Wands is speaking to me on many levels in this Reading. He is firstly telling me that this has been a hectic time. Like all Weddings, their preparation and lead up can be frenetic. So much to do; all the running around, organising, choosing of outfits, dresses, venues, colours, flowers, rings etc can leave one with very little time to think or gather one’s thoughts.

The Knight of Wands is telling me that this is all happening in a whirlwind. Is it all happening too fast. Is there too much action with not enough thought. Has this Wedding gathered a momentum that is now hard to slow down or rein in? Why am I thinking that Fire is driving everyone at the moment? Well we have the heat and positivity of The Sun shining down on us from the opposite side, and the building fiery excitement of guests in The Four of Wands. So many have travelled home, or from far away for this day that Fire has got hotter and hotter. Even The Hierophant is in on the action too, ready to make it all official in front of everyone from the town; family, friends, work colleagues etc. The Knight of Wands has really helped set everyone on Fire and looks like he is just going to gallop right down the centre of The Reading for he can’t stop now.

However, The Four of Swords in Position 4 is telling me that The Pressure is beginning to tell where someone is concerned. There is a stress here that is not Wedding Happy Stress related. No this is someone who feels under tremendous pressure. I feel there may be some underlying fears, concerns, worries about the whole thing but with The Knight of Wands in The Surrounding Energy it may all have happened too fast, moved too swiftly, decisions made and actions taken without thinking things through. Whichever one has second thoughts or doubts, need to realise that it is not too late. The Knight of Wands has a tendency to shy away from commitment so it may not be the woman depicted in the Happy Couple who feels the stress. The Knight of Wands often gets carried away on the spur of the moment and takes on, or agrees to things he can easily regret within a short space of time. He may be feeling under pressure to follow through and feels his life closing down into the secure, but claustrophobic little existence of The Six of Cups. He may feel the four walls closing in around him and the loss of his freedom. He may feel like running away, getting away or just disappearing.

The Four of Swords in The Answer Position 4 is giving AdviceAdvice that should be taken before it is too late. The situation may feel like it has taken on a life of its own at this stage, and like The Knight of Wand’s Horse, is at full gallop and cannot be reined it, but The Four of Swords is saying ‘Not So’. It is imperative at this stage that whichever one it is takes some time out on their own to think things through. They need to step back from the situation and give much thought as to the nature of their concerns. After all, it may just be pre-wedding nerves, but then it again there may be much more involved. Before The Knight of Wands is allowed to take one more stride either way, in or out, whoever is being depicted in The Four of Swords must allow their thoughts to clear and settle so that they can make a decision one way or the other. The Three Swords hanging over the Figure suggest to me the concern this person has for what others will say or think should they do something that will break with tradition, and ruin everyone else’s expectations of their life, while the Sword that lies beneath is the person’s ‘what about me, what about my happiness?‘ attitude.

On first glance this Reading looks done and dusted. A happy union and great celebrations, but now I believe on further analysis that everything has moved too fast, someone is uncertain, someone feels either duty bound or under immense pressure. Obviously, if this was a Face to Face Reading you would be able to ask questions and get a better idea but we must use our own wits for this one.
