Card Imagery Description 

After the Trauma  of the Five we saw the Cups Figure eventually seek comfort and solace from friends and family in the Six in an attempt to heal and come to terms with his loss.  In the Six, he took the time to find emotional stability with those who loved and cared for him.  In the Six, he took a nostalgic trip down memory lane reminiscing about his childhood, taking comfort from the wholesomeness and innocence of his youth.  The Cups Figure had got off to a wonderful start in the Ace when he was overflowing with positive emotions and the desire to share his love.  He had set off on his journey in search of love, real love and appeared to find it very quickly in the Two when he met the partner of his dreams.  While the other Suits were just getting the hang of things and planning for their future, the Cups Figure had already fallen in love and couldn’t wait to let the world know it.  His future seemed rosy indeed and the Cups ‘all loved’ up couldn’t wait to move on to the next stage and make a more definite commitment.  He had thought he had found what he was looking for, thought that his wishes had been answered and emotional needs fulfilled.  Everyone was happy for him and toasted his joy and love.  However, there were also those who were jealous and possibly some who had hidden agendas.

In hindsight now, I suppose it was all too good to be true.  Finding love and happiness that early on in the journey was probably hoping for too much.  Those Rose Tinted Glasses we spoke of before, were well and truly glued on back in those days.  Life was wonderful and nothing or no one could possibly shake the solidity of what the Cups Figure had being so lucky to find.  Yes indeed, it was all too good to be true.  The first signs of trouble set in, in The Four when we happened upon the Cups Figure sitting under a tree looking very disgruntled and fed up.  Not that he would tell us much because I think he was even finding it hard to deal and get his head around. There was no getting away from the fact that there was terrible disillusionment and disappointment.  There may even have been anger and bitterness in there too.  We had indeed being surprised to see the normally happy and jolly Cups Figure in such an apathetic and down-hearted manner.  We had tried to speak to him, to draw him out of himself but he just wasn’t interested.  He really wanted to be left alone to wallow in whatever it was that was upsetting him.  He also looked like he might have been drinking in an attempt to drown his sorrows.  So we left him and went on our way but it wasn’t long before word travelled of the incident of the Five.  We were all shocked, upset and reeling in disbelief.  Everything had blown up in the Cup’s face and all his dreams and plans lay smashed on the floor. The distress was intense and we all stood around not knowing what to do and how to help.  The Cups Figure, stood heartbroken and told us to go away and leave him alone.  He didn’t want to be comforted, he didn’t want help, he was beyond that.  We were concerned that so deep was his level of pain, he might try to do something stupid, try to hurt himself or even someone else for there was terrible anger there too.  So we waited and stood by knowing that in time he would come round and be prepared to take the help and comfort that was being offered to him.

The Cups Figure grieved and mourned for all that he had lost but time helped and he found a new type of peace and acceptance in the Six.  We all need time to heal after loss or trauma and the Cups Figure was right not to rush this process.  He took his time and retreated into a safe and secure zone where he would not be bothered and where no demands would be forced upon him.  He had listened to the advice of good friends around who asked him not to make any drastic changes or make any big decisions until he had found emotional stability once more.  So he didn’t.

Eventually a time comes when the Universe and our Higher Self expects us to move forward on our Journey again and this time has arrived for the Cups Figure in Card Seven.  He has been through a tough time and has understood what it is to feel pain, sadness and grief.  He also knows the darkness that disappointment and disillusionment bring.  The red/blackness of the depths of anger had terrified him.  He had not expected to experience thoughts and feelings as such and at times had not recognised himself.  He was also finding it hard to open his heart to trust again for he knew he did not want to go through such a terrible time again, did not want to leave himself vulnerable to pain.  He realises now that he certainly had been young, innocent and naive when he started out on his journey and wonders why no one warned him of the pitfalls one may encounter when one’s heart is so open and loving.  He knows now that it was something he had to learn for himself as he would not have believed it back then.  He most certainly has learned it the hard way.

The one decision he makes at this moment is to grow up in himself and emotionally mature.  This is easier said than done for the Cups Figure but he is not the same man we left crying in the black cloak.  He has hardened but not in a nasty way.  No one can ever take his Cup’s birthright away from him and therefore he will always, once he stays Upright, feel love, empathy, compassion and joy.  He will still want to be kind and considerate to all and most importantly he still believes in love and the beauty of sharing it with another.  What he understands now that he didn’t in the early stages is that he needs to identify his own emotional needs first before he can ever attempt to experience true love with another.  He is mature enough now to realise that he had been running around chasing love, when he really didn’t understand what he was looking for.  He had thought that true happiness and love was something one sought externally. He was looking for others to make him happy when he should have looked to himself first.  The love he now seeks will have depth and be long-lasting. Any love, will first start within.  Should he find love with another, then there will be equal giving and receiving. There will also, most importantly be, trust and respect.  He hadn’t looked deep enough the last time and misread the signals. What he had thought was love was mere infatuation for he was too eager and gullible to know better.  Before he can be truly happy with another, he must first get to know himself and find real happiness within.

The Cups Figure has now reached a crossroads or turning point in his life.  He seeks change and to move on but he wants to get it right this time. His challenge he now understands it to ‘know thyself’. He must spend a period of time examining every aspect of his life so that he may understand who he is.  At present, he is not really sure.  There is a part of the earlier version in him but also a hidden part, his true self, that whispers to his subconscious and nudges him in his dreams.  The Cups Figure is determined to reveal his hidden identity and understand his emotional needs before he makes any moves in his life.  He is relieved when The Seven appears for it will provide him with the discipline, stamina and courage to face his true self, warts and all.  The Cups Figure intends to put every aspect of his life under a microscope.

In the Seven of Cups, the soul-searching begins.  As we arrive at the scene, it has already begun.  We have entered the room quietly, so as not to disturb him.  He remains unaware of our presence for his complete concentration and focus is on Seven Cups that float on Clouds above his head.  They are not physically there of course but are very real to the Cups Figure.  They are conjured up from his mind’s eye, his inner vision, his imagination.  Their method of transportation, a Cloud.  We first saw the Cloud in the opening scenes of The Ace of Cups when it symbolised Spirit. Back then a Hand extended from the Cloud and presented each Suit with the raw potential of their Element.  What was being offered was not tangible but could be brought into manifestation with effort.

The contents of the Cups showcased on the Cloud in Card Seven are not tangible either but represent the abstract aspects of the Figure’s personality.  Should he reach out to touch one, it would merely dissipate and vanish.  The Figure’s body is blackened out suggesting that he is totally absorbed in his task and must keep the images he has conjured up for as long as necessary. It also suggests that he will work both night and day, internally and externally until he finds what he is looking for. This is certainly a challenging task and the risk of getting side-tracked or distracted is quite possible.  There is also a danger that the Figure may forget his mission and become part of this surreal reality.  He may decide to float away with the Clouds to somewhere where he doesn’t have to take any action or make any decisions.

The Figure stares at the Seven Cups floating in front of him and spends much time considering each. Each Cup represents a part of the Figure’s personality or life.  In the First Cup rests a Mask or Face which represents his public persona and is the mask he wears in the outside world.  This is the part of him that conforms to what society demands, and behaves in a controlled and pleasing manner which people around him are used to.  The Figure needs to ask himself whether the Mask is a true representation of himself or a front to please others.  Does this Mask make him happy? Is this really who he is? What would happen should he chose to leave the Mask at home one day? Would people notice at all or would they find him strange and uncomfortable? Would they like him? Who is he trying to please?

In the Second Cup he watches a Snake slither out and down the side.  He knows that this Snake represents his sexuality.  He needs to determine what his needs are in this area.  Is he happy and comfortable with who he is or is it tied up with the Mask in the first Cup? Does he consider sex as a healthy part of being human or is it something that is hidden or shameful? The Snake also represents rebirth and renewal. Snakes have the ability to shed their skin during various stages of their growth. This makes them open to change and adaptability.  The Figure must ask how prepared he is to shed the skin of his old life if he is to grow and develop.  On another level, The Snake represents his creativity and asks how he uses the gifts and talents he was born with. Is he fulfilled in this area? Has he tapped into his abilities? How creative is he in finding solutions to problems or issues in his life?

In the Third Cup stands a tall Castle or Fortress.  This symbolically represents the Figure’s home life and personal security. He needs to ask if he is happy where he is and how secure it makes him feel.  Is his home and home life a place of sanctuary or a place of dread and depression? Of what importance to him are bricks and mortar and does it matter where he lives.  The Castle also represents his goals and aspirations.  His Castle appears very tall.  Are his goals realistic and achievable or is he just building castles in the sky? How successful has he been in achieving his goals? What is he doing to realise his ambitions? Are his goals still relevant or does he need to adapt or change them just like the Snake does with its skin? Will they bring him the happiness he seeks?

In the Fourth Cup, jewels and treasure are heaped high with some falling out the side.  These represent the Figure’s ability to draw wealth to himself .  Again, the Figure must ask some tough questions of himself and it is with money and possessions the answers can be difficult to voice.  How important are money and possessions to him? Does he feel that he has enough or is there a craving for more? There certainly seems to be a lot in his Cup.  Can he expect money to buy him happiness or is just having plenty of it comforting? Would money be an important factor in forming a relationship? Does he hold unrealistic dreams about winning the lotto or becoming rich? Is it all just wishful thinking or does he have the real ability to become financially secure or wealthy.  In what order of importance does money come?  Could he live happily without it? Has it brought him happiness in the past or did it complicate life?

In the Fifth Cup sits a Laurel Wreath. This symbolically represents his successes, personal achievements and personal power.  He must now define what success means to him.  How successful does he feel? What has he achieved in life that he is proud of? What are his personal strengths? Where does he excel in life? Does he consider himself a success or failure? Does he require, trophies, certificates and awards to feel successful or does it come from within? Is he proud of who he is? Is he doing all to realise his potential? Has success changed him?

In the Sixth Cup a Dragon or Lizard prepares to pounce.  This symbolically represents his inner demons, his shadow-self. This is his dark side, the side that the Mask in the first Cup would never reveal under any circumstances.  It also represents his animalistic and instinctual nature. Does he shun this side of him in an attempt to repress it or does he let it run wild and free when no one is looking? Does it fill him with shame or would he feel relieved to bring it out in the open? Is he prepared to embrace and own his shadow-self so that he may understand himself better? Could integration of the self bring the ultimate true inner-happiness he desires?

Finally, we see the Seventh Cup resting in the centre of the large Cloud.  Standing in the Cup with arms outstretched is a Shrouded Figure.  The shroud conceals the face and upper body.  This Figure represents his true self, the identity which at present is hidden to him, yet is very much alive and well waiting to be discovered.  A strong bright aura surrounds the Shrouded Figure which vibrates with strong and powerful energy.  The Shrouded Figure also symbolises his Spiritual Self and he must ask how much attention he gives to it.  He must remember he has a spiritual duty aswell as a physical one. The Seventh Cup acts as his Holy Grail and now understands the purpose of his journey.  The identity of the Seventh Cup will only be revealed when the Cups Figure has put in the necessary inner work and has answered all the questions with courage and honesty.

As he stands mesmerised in front of the Seven Cups, he realises he has much to contemplate and reflect on.  There are areas of his life that he has never questioned before or even thought about.  One thing he is sure of is that his life or world has changed. He now needs to understand where and how he fits into his new world and what he has to offer it.  He must decide what he wants out of life and how he is going to go about it.  It will not be enough to stand and contemplate his Cups indefinitely, putting off the day where action has to be taken.  He must put all his effort into the work at hand and then prepare to move on in life.  When he does he should be enlightened, confident, happy and sure of himself. He should have matured and feel comfortable and proud of who he is.  He should also be strong enough to make any necessary changes in his life and that if something is not making him happy it must be let go of so that it can be replaced with something that does.  He owes it to himself and there can be no turning back now.

The work this Seven  brings is a sole journey and challenge for there is only a certain amount that other people can help the Cups Figure with.  His friends and family may have an idea of what would make him happy and how he should live his life but the time has come for him to take ownership of his personal happiness, his life and his world.  The best person right now to determine that is himself.  A lot of inner and outer work has to be done and he may find meditation quite beneficial.

A worrying aspect of the Seven of Cups is that the Figure may get so caught up in going into himself that he might be in danger of losing touch with reality.  If he becomes too self-absorbed he may indulge in fantasies about what he would like in life but will do nothing to realise it.  He may get caught up in daydreaming and wishful thinking.  He runs the danger of becoming a cliché, always trying ‘to find myself’.  He may use it as a constant excuse for not doing anything with his life for he will always be promising to take action or be happy when he ‘eventually finds himself’.

His imagination may also run away with him as he starts believing all sorts of unrealistic grand notions of himself.  He may talk constantly of what he will do when he ‘wins the lotto’ or ‘inherits the business’ or ‘finds the right partner’ or ‘makes his first million’.

If he has not recovered properly from the upset of the Five or has not taken steps to grieve or accept his loss then he may repress his emotions.  The Figure in the Seventh Cup is ignored while he indulges in the distractions of the other Six Cups. He cannot face himself.   What he sees may be the hallucinations or wild night terrors caused by an excess of alcohol or drugs.

The Seven of Cups also deals with confusion and having to choose between too many options.  As the Cups Figure stares at the Seven Cups in front of him he is spoiled for choice.  He looks like he is on a Game Show with the clock ticking away in the background.  He has been selected to Dare and Risk All.  He is shown to a stand with Seven Gold Cups.  He can see the contents of Six of the Cups.  Each holds an item of value and worth.  He can choose any one he likes and will walk away with a fabulous prize but should he choose the Seventh Cup with its contents concealed, then he could stand a chance to walk away with a new Car.  The problem is that the Seventh Cup is an All or Nothing Cup.  If the car is not in it, then nothing else will be either.  Should that happen, he will have to walk away with nothing. The spotlight is on him and the Seven Cups. What a dilemma.

Each Cup looks tempting and promising but he can only choose one.  The Seventh Cup holds the most risk but also the most opportunity.  Will he be brave and wise enough to make the right choice? He needs to take his time before making a decision but the clock is ticking and the gong will go. The crowd may be cheering him on and urging him to make certain decisions but the choice is ultimately his.  He may need to go by his gut instincts and disregard the pressure or advice from those around him.

Meaning

When the Seven of Cups appears in your Reading, it is a good indication that the time has come to take stock of your life and that questions need to be answered. It is a sign that you have changed and all you have to do is scratch beneath the surface to realise that all is not as it should be.  It is very probable that something has happened in your life or possibly a major incident that has caused you to stop in your tracks and analyse everything you have done to date.  You may be painfully aware that you are seriously wanting in certain areas of your life.  You could have a feeling of not knowing who you are anymore or not knowing what you want or what it is that will make you happy.  It is quite likely you no longer want what you have or that it does not bring you the same joy. You have probably been drifting along for a long time doing the same old things and presuming you were happy.  The Seven of Cups suggests that regardless of how you have felt up until now, you have reached a state of Grand Discontent.  There may be a sense of lack of personal fulfilment or real happiness in your life.  It sometimes takes the rug to be pulled out from under our feet in order for us to wake up and take stock of our lives before it is too late.

Regardless of the originating cause of your issue, the Seven of Cups strongly suggests that your needs are not being fulfilled whether it be in a relationship, work or personal life.  You must prepare to do some deep soul-searching in order to find fulfilment and identify the cause of your discontent or apathy.  To facilitate this process you may be throwing the spotlight on each area of your life to see where the real issues lie.  You could be attending counselling or psychotherapy sessions to help  expose hidden motives and overcome childhood conditioning  to expose your true personality.  Then again, you may be using meditation or reading Self-Help books in an attempt to find your True Self.

You will have to put each area of your life under a microscope and be brutally honest with yourself.  There is a desire to move on and be happy but for the first time you are conscious of not wanting to repeat the same old mistakes or get stuck in negative patterns.  There is an effort on your part to liberate your self from your old self or a part of it that has been holding you back.  Nothing Major is wrong when The Seven of Cups appears but it does throw the ball back into your court and suggests that you are beginning to take full responsibility for your personal happiness and fulfillment. It is a time for looking to the needs of yourself and if others see you as selfish or self-centred, so be it.  Friends and family may have been flocking around you recently or fussing and fretting over you.  They may have been trying to exert some influence over how you proceed from here but you must trust yourself on this one.   It is about you at the moment and take as long as you need with this process but not forever.  The sooner you have sorted this out the better.  You can then make any necessary changes or additions to help get your life sorted out the way you want it this time before it is too late.

The Seven of Cups appearing can also suggest that you are exploring or trying to develop your spiritual side.  You may have everything you need in life but feel a void in this area.  However, you may also be avoiding or neglecting your spiritual obligations. Your life may be very busy with work, relationship, family and socialising, leaving precious little room for anything else.  If this is the case, the Seven of Cups is a subtle warning that to be truly happy you must find a balance between the physical and spiritual.

Another interpretation for the Seven of Cups is Daydreaming and Pie in The Sky Ideas.  You may be indulging in wishful thinking instead of doing anything about your situation.  You lack focus and commitment, all enthusiastic one moment but listless and disinterested the next.  You may have an overactive imagination and have a tendency to escape into a fantasy world instead of facing reality. You could be procrastinating and speaking of Grand Schemes and Wild Ideas. The only person you are convincing or kidding is yourself. Instead of taking real action to realise your dreams or ambitions you prefer to Build Castles in the Air and watch them float by.

The Seven of Cups can bring illusions and not having a firm grasp of what is going on in a situation.  Everything may be all in your head or totally over the top.  You could be ‘away with the fairies’ most of time and terribly impractical.  Laziness and lethargy accompany this Card along with neglect of health and diet. Over-indulging in alcohol or mind altering substances may be causing you to lose your grip with the world.  You intend to sort yourself out but never quite get there.

The Seven of Cups may have you feeling that your life is in disarray or disorganised. If you are used to being in control then this may stress you out considerably as you feel all over the place.  Then again you may be so fed up and bored, you have decided to let everything go because your just don’t care anymore. This can be a very liberating experience. Think of all that housework that has to be done each day, all that ironing, washing and hovering? Doesn’t it just erode your soul? What a waste of your time and energy when you could be doing so many other things, things that you like and enjoy. Let the housework wait. It will still be there when you get back.

Multiple Choice is also suggested in The Seven of Cups.  You may have several options or opportunities open to you at present but are bewildered by the variety of what is on offer.  Every option looks attractive and has its appeal leaving you confused and unable to make a decision. You will have to make a choice sooner or later but do give it some thought as what you decide on will ultimately affect you on an emotional level.  It may also set the tone of your life for the foreseeable future. Don’t be influenced by those around you.  Try to focus in on what is important. You must take responsibility for your choice.

In a Relationship situation the Seven of Cups would suggest that all is not right or that something has changed. You may feel there is something missing in your relationship or feel emotionally unfulfilled. You might feel you have lost your personal identity within the relationship and wonder where it went too?

If looking for romance, you may be identifying your needs in a relationship and deciding what type of partner would be most suitable for.  What is it that you truly want in a relationship? What is it that will make you happy?

A partner may retreat physically and mentally from the relationship as they try to find meaning in their life or you could be helping your partner find him or herself by giving them the space they need. The Seven of Cups is also a Feast or Famine Card and can suggest that after a long period of singledom, along comes several potential interested suitors all at the one time. There may be a multiple choice of partners and the time has come to decide who will best fulfil your emotional needs.  Make sure you choose for all the right reasons.  This may confuse you so be very careful in your selection.

In a Career Spread you may be in a job that provides everything materially but does not emotionally fulfil you. After years working for a company you slowly start to feel bored and discontent leading you to explore other areas of your personality that have not yet been developed or catered for. It is time to examine all your career options and determine which would make you happy.  You may need to take some time off or a longer leave of absence in an attempt to find yourself career-wise. You may also be dreaming about the ideal career but doing little about realising it.

If looking for a job, then several offers may come at the one time which will leave you in a spin. You will have to examine each offer thoroughly to determine which is best suited to you.  Remember to take your emotional needs into consideration when making your decision.

When the Seven of Cups Reverses, it be a good sign of having clear thinking and understanding.  You have decided to let go of an old way of life which hasn’t being making you very happy. It can suggest a time when you realise what the problem is and where you have been going wrong. You may suddenly see you life in stark clarity as you wake up to all that is out-of-order and not in your best interests.  You may wonder why it took you so long to take your head out of the clouds and see the situation for what it really is.  It is a time for seeing beyond the illusion that both you and others have created.  Action is now required and the time of reflection an inner-work for the moment is over.  You now must implement any changes that are necessary.

It can suggest that you have a clear goal and know exactly what it is that you want.  Instead of dreaming about it in the Upright Seven, you begin to take steps to realise it.  Your goal is in clear sight now and you may find that you let other areas of your life go in order to concentrate on it.  You now have your priorities in order. Your dream, ideas and plans are no longer all in your head or in your imagination for they are beginning to manifest as you act now to make them real.  If you have been involved in the creative process of something, be it a project, work of art or even building a house, you are now beginning to see it come together.

On the other hand, you could get so caught up with the planning and visualising of your great idea or plan that it never gets off the ground.  Procrastination has you talking about it for ever but never getting remotely close to making it a reality.  Your imagination may have run away with you too and what you have been dreaming about it just totally impractical, impossible or ridiculous.  You could be chasing rainbows or delusional.

The Seven of Cups Reversed can represent a time for growing up and maturing.  A sense of personal responsibility has taken over and suggests that you are eventually getting around to tidying up your life and maybe even your house aswell.  A feeling of being re-energised and revitalised takes over from lethargy and laziness and it is all about cleaning up your act.  The Seven of Cups Reversed can have a very sobering effect and will help you set new resolutions and strengthen your resolve. You could be giving up alcohol or just cutting down after realising how it has been making you feel so drained and foggy. You may have decided to overhaul your diet or go on a detox after overindulging or getting on the weighing scales.  There is a need or desire to clear the fog and mugginess you have been existing in and realise that time has been wasted or that you have been living below par.  You could be embarking upon a new exercise regime and feel full of determination and focus or you might be trying to kick the smoking habit. With this Card Reversed you can have a tendency to go from one extreme to the other.  On one hand you can turn into a health freak, obsessed with diet and exercise or go totally into free fall and become even more slovenly and lackadaisical about everything in your life and find it hard to resist the slightest temptation.  It will depend on surrounding cards to determine which is which.

Taken to the extreme with the Reversed Seven of Cups, we can find a drink or drug problem that has got out of hand.  There may be very little time spent sober or drug-free.  A deep unhappiness is the root cause and a need to escape reality. Addictions can cause irresponsible behaviour followed by self-loathing which creates a negative cycle or pattern.  You may be indulging too much in the psychic arts or trance-work creating a detachment or disconnection from the physical world.  Ungrounded and unfocused you may appear spaced out or unbalanced to those around you. You may need professional help to identify where your problems or issues lie.

The Seven of Cups Reversed can also highlight to need to attend to your spiritual side.  It can suggest that you are too materialistic with having and getting and the finer pleasures in life.  Your life may be very superficial or lacks depth.  You may be chasing happiness in all the wrong places and with people who care little about you.  You really need to take stock of your life but you may be refusing to examine yourself out fear of being horrified at what you might discover.  Instead you fill your time with trivial or silly details. You haven’t a clue where you are going and really couldn’t care less because you believe you are having a good time.  You spend little time on your own because you claim to get bored or having nothing to do.  You do not know how to be or sit still with yourself.  You think you have everything you want but deep down know that you are not happy.  However, you are not able to quite vocalise or admit that at this stage. When there are any upsets or when things go wrong then it is always someone else’s fault. You take no responsibility for your life and prefer to just drift along. When the Seven of Cups appears Reversed it suggests that you will not get away with it for much longer.

When the Seven of Cups appears Reversed, it is generally an indication that the party days are over or should be.  You need to come down to earth now and do something meaningful with your life .

In the Upright Seven of Cups we have, the search for inner happiness and personal fulfilment but when it Reverses, you may turn your back on your own needs in favour of another’s.  You could be living someone else’s life or dream instead of your own.  You lack the strength, determination or even the interest in finding your own way. You might prefer to stagnate in a comfortable but un-fulfilling situation at the expense of personal growth. Again, this is another sign of not taking responsibility for your own life.  It can take you back to the Six of Cups where you were looked after and didn’t have to think of anything.  You have stayed too long, got stuck in a rut or have failed to grow up.

In a Relationship Reading the Seven of Cups Reversed can suggest that you are refusing to acknowledge that something is missing. Your relationship may lack spiritual depth and relies too much on the physical. You could be keeping your head down and going  about your normal business in the hope that it will sort itself out. Depending on surrounding Cards, any issues may well be resolved with communication and determination but that involves putting a bit of effort into sorting it out.  You or your partner may lack the imagination and not be able to identify your key problems or may entertain unrealistic notions of how to settle them.

You may have an unrealistic or overly idealistic attitude about love and relationships.  You may have read one too many romantic novels and expect happy ever after scenarios to just naturally occur.  The partner you dream of may not exist or is only a figment of your imagination. You may be waiting for love to come knocking on your door instead of doing anything about it. In a relationship you might be wishy-washy and superficial needing to be cared for and looked after.  You may rely too heavily on your partner and if living together or married may be quite useless at keeping house or the fridge stocked.

After spending time exploring all Career options, you are ready to make your selection.  You now know what you want and which one will bring the most happiness. You could be setting about making your dream career a real possibility. However, you may feel backed into taking a job you don’t really care for because there is very little to choose from. You may also be finding it very difficult to determine what you want or are good at or feel bewildered by the variety or choice of what is on offer.  You might feel dull and ambitionless at present, while those around you seem to be following their path.  The time may not be right or you may not be taking the time to explore all your options. Perhaps you are waiting for the perfect opportunity to land on your doorstep.  Failure to be observant may have led you to miss out on a great opportunity. You may have had your head in the clouds at the time or were distracted elsewhere. Then again you may be in a job that gives you very little opportunity to shine.  Either no one is aware of your hidden talents or you choose to conceal them.

 Your job may require you to be imaginative and inspirational but you may temporarily blocked and have little creative vision at present. The harder you try, the more ideas escape you or become elusive.  You may also be reluctant to give up the comforts you have in your present position in order to pursue your dreams or find true happiness.

*The next time we visit the Cups, we shall see if they have managed to sort out the life. Have they identified what it is that is missing in their life? If they have, will they be prepared to do anything about it? Will they be any closer to realising their dream or will it be still all in their mind and imagination? Will they have discovered their hidden identity and Soul Purpose?
